Yeah he would be interesting too. I'm starting to sense a trend. A majority of those directors have fairly dark movies. Still want the Robocop reboot. I forget a month ago what other comic book movie was his name tied to again?
Agreed. A Nolan/Aronosfky Superman movie would just be... good grief. So tantalizing.

Oh and back to my earlier post. I guess he was in the running to direct Wolverine 2. I'm sure he'd rather tackle Superman though.

I think Ben would be good for a Detective esque Batman movie but that's only me. "Gone Baby Gone" was great and I'm anticipating seeing "The Town" still. My choice for Lois is still Zoey Deschanel. Second choice would be Mary Elizabeth Winstead.
Natalie Portman could be Lois Lane.

As a fan, the prospect of Darren Aronosfky directing a Superman movie based on a David Goyer script with Christopher Nolan producing is just too damn good to be true. If this happens, and even more so, if Natalie Portman is Lois Lane-- I think we could have something really special on our hands.

Why? The guy is a bloody good director. Gone Baby Gone and The Town are two great movies.
Just think, if Affleck directed a Superman movie, he'd be the only person to play a superhero (Daredevil), to play an actor who's played a superhero (George Reeves in Hollywoodland) and to direct a superhero movie. Who could beat that?!

It occurred to me a while ago that Affleck might end up in the mix to direct Superman given how pleased WB was with the job he did on The Town.
I have no problem with Ben Affleck as a director. I just find it kind of interesting and even a tad weird. Even five or ten years ago if Ben Affleck was a contender to direct Superman people would bat their eyes at you and call you crazy.
It's just a little weird to think that nowadays Ben Affleck is a (reasonably) respected director who is considered for high-profile projects such as Superman. It's going to take some getting used to.

I suppose so. But when you think about it, his directorial CV is much the same as was Chris Nolan's when he was signed to revive Batman or Bryan Singer's when he landed the X-Men gig - all three are/ were best known for making sleek, thoughtful crime thrillers.
I actually like quite a few of the suggestions so far. Ben Affleck is a choice that wouldn't have occurred to me but I'd certainly be interested in what he'd come up with. Aronofsky, Jones and Reeves are also very interesting choices. Snyder is more of a visual director and hasn't shown great talent when it comes to characters, but maybe working with the Nolans could balance that out.
The one director I wouldn't want near this film is Tony Scott. Most of his movies are style over substance and his style feels kind of dated these days. I don't really have an opinion about Liebesman. I've seen his Texas Chainsaw prequel, which wasn't anything special, but maybe he'll impress me with Battle: L.A..

I'd rather see Affleck take over Batman when Nolan is done, but I think he'd do a good job with Superman; he knows how to put a film together and balance both quality and commercial considerations (The Town is quite expert as a film designed to be both mature and commercial).
I don't know. Going from one petite Lois to another petite Lois might confuse people.
I think Durance has the right build but if they can find someone without the plastic than that would be great.
I don't think Portman is really right for Lois; great actress, but not, I guess, "brassy" would be the term.
