for me his a little old to play a young pike his 10 older then Jeff Hunter was however he does look like a Good pike just too old

Bit of old age make up and have him play older Scotty!
Not a big part, just a conversation with Spock over view screen or something.

If Spock is going to do some time traveling, he might very well consult his old engineer.
