Choose 4 characters to save the world, fight the evil overlord, destroy the ring, etc. They must use medieval type things-no lightsabers or maybe a magic sword instead. So characters like Teal'c, Conan, etc.

You can check multiple heroes from the list. Choose 4.

But seriously, is there any situation Kirk, Spock & McCoy together couldn't figure their way out of? I doubt it, especially with Batman backing them up.

Probably should go back and take suggestions first, then do a poll, then whittle it down.

Even the Doctor needs a companion. He just seems to be a smart guy without his Tardis and in most episodes he leaves it until the end. His only gadget seems to be the sonic screwdriver. He really should have gone through all his regenerations in about 20 minutes.

My team, distilled by years of experience in wasting time reading book, comics, watching tv and doing role-playing games:
Conan (ultimate human tank, skilled tactician);
Legolas (death from afar, some kick-ass moves);
Aragorn (skilled swordsman and charismatic leader);
Spock (brainiac supreme, some kick-ass ability).

Possibly, substitute Aragorn and Spock with Batman (brain and brawn) and the Doctor (super-genius, but kind of a wimp ).

From the list I chose Legolas, Riddick and Spock. The fourth member of my team would be the Doctor, preferably the 10th. At least he defeated the Sycorax leader in a sword fight (granted, with the help of an apple) and hopefully has retained the 3rd Doctor's knowledge of Venusian karate. Together with Spock we should be able to outwit any foe. And since Riddick, Legolas and to a lesser degree Spock are rather close-lipped, I'd need at least one guy for conversation and entertaining anecdotes.

Why are there villains on the list?

I was originally going to have a Good or Evil option. Alignment was always an issue in Dungeons and Dragons. Having Darth Maul kicking ass on your side isn't a bad idea from a pure ass kicking perspective.

I avoided adding Godlike Beings like Superman since they normally can't be hurt. I know people regard Batman as some sort of undefeatable god, but he is still only human.
