Once the dvd is out I predict there will be pigeon pair matches to every scene in the movie!

There's the transporter-room scene from "This Side of Paradise," where Kirk tries to release Spock from the spores by getting under his skin -- inferring Leila Kalome wouldn't want somebody who should be squatting on a mushroom, right next to the dog-faced boy.

That scene is more analogous to this one in the movie, I think.

It's very slashy and TOS, Spock almost killing Kirk, something that Kirk actually chooses.

I'm watching TOS every night now and it makes me appreciate the movie more and more, the wonderful capture of the character relationships.

I would like to be watching TOS right now, too; but alas, my schedule has me in third-season STNG at the moment. I just watched "Yesterday's Enterprise" yesterday. So it was yesterday's enterprise, twice.

At one episode per day, I should be getting back to TOS in a couple years. But I could listen to the audio rips, couldn't I...I think I'll start working on those again.

Oh, just give up this TNG stuff. I have it on the best of authority (a dog faced boy who sits on a mushroom) that Picard's maternal grandmother and a great grandmother were erased from history due to the destruction of the Kelvin. There is no TNG. Nu-TOS is all there is! BASK IN IT!!! ENJOY TOS ONLY!!! IT IS THE ONLY TRUE TREK!!!

 Gastrof, that would be all too easy for me. I realized I hadn't watched STNG in about five years, whereas I watched TOS for about...40 years. I was really loving those TOS first-season HD remastered discs when some pointy-eared bastige somewhere decided blu-ray was it.

Oh, just give up this TNG stuff.

I AGREE!! Watch TOS while your multiple movie viewings are still fresh, I guarantee you will find it very interesting in light of the movie. Yes I know you have seen TOS many many times.. so have I.. but it very cool watching TOS after the movie. Just give yourself a week of TOS.

TNG is a rather mind numbing IMHO.

It's been kind of fun and not as many howlers as I remembered. But I see your point.
