^Now that I would listen to.

Velvet Revolver has been a mixed bag so far. Their two CDs were average IMO. It looks like Scott Weiland is probably out of VR, from what I've been hearing.
Weiland was booted out of Velvet Revolver a while ago. As far as I know, the band is still searching for a new lead singer.
Very true. This is not Guns N' Roses. Axl Rose was not what made the band great back in the day. With everyone but Axl gone, I really don't know how interested I am. I'd really be more eager for Velvet Revolver to find a new frontman and get back to work.
Absolutely right.
Axl recording without the other guys, and touring as GnR is like:
Robert Plant calling the Strange Sensation 'Led Zeppelin'
Paul McCartney calling himself 'The Beatles'
Dave Grohl calling the Foo Fighters 'Nirvana'
Brian May and Roger Taylor and Paul Rodgers performing as Queen (oh, wait!)
This IS NOT Guns n Roses.
The difference is that all the members of Guns N' Roses either quit or were fired. It's not like they all decided to split up.
That would be awesome.Velvet Revolver should get Chris Cornell. He hasn't got a band at the moment.

Yes, it would be. Although Cornell is one of the 'American singers' rumoured to be working with Led Zep's Page, Jones, and Jason Bonham at the moment. So I don't know if he's available. If the rumours are true.

Cornell's currently working on his third album, this one being done with Timbaland -- I'd be shocked if he were able to actually get along with the Zeppelin boys.

I dunno, people leaving the band for one reason or another sure sounds like splitting up to me.
I'm curious, how the heck did Axl Rose end up owning the rights to the name "Guns & Roses?" Because from what I understand, other band members could NOT create a competing G&R project - just Axl, because he holds the rights. Was everyone else just really stoned that day and Axl got them to sign away their right to the band name?
I give the guy a lot of credit for that business coup, however he managed it.
Interesting how fans are willing to tolerate band line up changes if the singer is still the same.
Conversely, when the rest of the band remains the same, and the frontman changes, controversy ensues. The replacement of Ozzy with Dio in Sabbath, the exit of Roth and the addition of Hagar in Van Halen, the replacement of Dickinson with Blaze Bayley in Maiden; all were very controversial changes with the fans.
But GnR without Slash or Duff? No, thanks.
