I know these threads pop up constantly, but here's mine, I'm sorry.
Is anybody going to this? I've gone to MANY local conventions (Motorcity comicon is about 45 minutes from me, that's local enough) but never to a larger one like this. Patrick Stewart being there is the big draw for me, I'm an autograph nut (but has to be in person!) and have one from everyone I pretty much want one from except him! My family jokes that his autograph is my "holy grail".
I read somewhere that you actually have to purchase autograph tickets to get an autograph at larger cons like this? Is this true and do they generally sell out quickly? ie, am I wasting a 6 hour drive for this (I joke when I say "waste", I'll have fun regardless. It's Chicago!)
I'm also assuming that photo-ops are a seperate thing altogether? That you can't take a picture while you're up there getting an autograph because then they won't get your money?
If anybody's going, maybe we'll run into each other!
