Cheesiest, Goofiest moment in TOS.

The jam scene with Spock and Adam in "The Way to Eden" is pretty goofy. This was TOS' attempt at doing an episode based on the 1960's hippy culture which was nearing it's end by the time the episode was produced.

I agree with "The Omega Glory" ending being extremely cheesy. I really dislike it when Star Trek overuses the concept that humanity is overly special in a universe filled with thousands of influential species. In this case though, it was the shameful US propaganda that undid a pretty good episode. It can't be faulted though, this was the 1960's which featured some pretty big conflicts that involved the USA.

Don't get me started on "Spock's Brain", who knows what they were thinking?! And then of course there is "Plato's Stepchildren" which featured Kirk acting like a horse, Spock singing romantic ballads and various other singing, dancing and poetic tomfoolery.

About "Plato's Stepchildren": Okay, so the Platonians use their psychokinetic powers to force Kirk and Spock to humiliate themselves, as a way of attempting to persuade McCoy to stay with them. After ten minutes, we get it. Seeing scene after scene of Kirk and Spock being made to perform silly and degrading acts just gets boring, and you start to feel embarrassed for the actors. That's one episode that would probably have worked better in a half-hour format.

You can put a man on the moon.....but you can't afford to give James T. Kirk a manual back-scratcher with which to reach those itches his own arm cannot.
That scene WAS ridiculous. Are we meant to think Kirk was thinking, ''Oh, no, it's not Spock scratching, it's the YEOMAN!!!''???
It wasn't an itch. If you're going to damn the show, at least be accurate about what you're damning.

Each of the previous submissions has a degree of merit, and each described moment to me resonates something invaluable that TOS brought to the table:

Fun

Without a doubt the orignal series brought more fun and humor to the table than what came after, with the exception of one or two of the feature films.
The onscreen chemistry of the cast and crew really made it all a special and worthwhile endeavor.
