Chariot and Galaxy

backstept

Rear Admiral
Rear Admiral
something I whipped up today

click for full size image

the ship is the Chariot Class designed by Atolm and modeled by Howard Day over at SFM
for the background I made the galaxy from scratch and used part of a nebula background by Farcry, also from SFM

enjoy!

hey that's cool, i really like it it's some thing different from the normal horizontal layout of most starships

It's a freaky looking ship but I like it. Very cool design! Nice render too.

I love the ship! If I could ask 3 things;)
First is the Saucer the same general circular size and the Galaxy?

The bottom "fin" I love but did you have a use in mind for it?

Also it almost looks like the Nacelle's could split and there would be 2 ships. Kind of like the Prometheus class is that true?

lol for a real geeky bonus question how many decks lol. Is the fin general ship use lol:)

the saucer is circular, not ovoid

no separation as far as I know, and for the rest I wouldn't know because I didn't make the ship :D

I don't think I've ever seen a ship design as interesting and "unusual" as this.
I absolutely love the idea behind it, really wonderfully thought. The composition of the image and the choice of background definitely add to the WOW factor.

Has this been developed at scifi-meshes.com? If so, do you have a link to the "work in progress" thread, I'd love to see some intermediate step of this design ;)

Sadly, the WIP was lost with the SFM crash a couple of years ago. And I really wish I knew where to find Atolm's original sketch!
