Characters or situations you'd like to see in the books?

here's a situation I'd like to see more about (From MA):

It is revealed in this episode (one little ship) that the Dominion have begun producing Jem'Hadar in the Alpha Quadrant that have a different genetic makeup than the ones produced in the Gamma Quadrant. The 'Alphas', as they are called, are supposed to be better suited for battle in the Alpha Quadrant than their predecessors, the 'Gammas'. There were plans to further develop the differences and animosity between Alpha and Gamma Jem'Hadar in later episodes, but the plotline was abandoned after this episode.

So I guess those Alphas went to the GQ - but what happened to them next?

That's a great idea, Joe. Alpha vs Gamma, whoever wins, we lose

Has Commodore Robert Wesley, from The Ultimate Computer and One of Our Planets is Missing, been expanded on in any of the novels? It would be interesting to find out what made him leave Starfleet to become the governor of Mantilles and if he ever returned to the fleet or what he became of him after the 2260s.

Commodore Robert Wesley (between TOS and TAS) was in "The Disinherited".

The former Governor (ie. post-TAS) was seen in "Yesterday's Son", "Tears of the Singers" and "Crucible: Spock".

Well I remember the Alpha Jem'hadar were very arrogant and believed themselves to be superior to the Gamma's. How they would have reacted at the end of the war is anyone guess... I mean could their loyalty to the Founders mean they simply just put down their arms and left to the Gamma Quadrant? Did they kill themselves in disgrace after losing? Did they go rogue and still plague the spaceways?

Wasnt it said in the book "The Battle of Betazed" that the Dominion were also making a new breed of Jem'hadar that used telepathic abilities or something?

Speaking of the Dominion, I remember that race of Gamma Quadrant refugees saying that they were prisoners of a race called the T-Rogorans who were conquered by the Dominion, have these guys ever been sighted?

Not quite; as I said above, Yesterday's Son disregards TAS, and depicts Wesley as a commodore still commanding the Lexington two years after "All Our Yesterdays." (Even years before the infamous Roddenberry memo, there were a number of novelists who either ignored TAS or were simply unfamiliar with it.)

They tried, but...
...the altered Jem'hadar couldn't handle the input, particularly the way other minds didn't follow their highly-structured mental programming. The mental chaos, shall we say, severly reduced their comabt effectiveness.

I'd like to see more TNG pre-Nemesis novels, especially if Data has a big part in them. Do writers even write TNG novels that are pre-Generations? Alot of stuff I've seen or heard of is movie era.

^^What does Sherlock Holmes have to do with phrenology?

Sorry my mistake, it's James Mortimer (Hound of the baskervilles) who enthuses about the practice to Holmes not the other way around - it's been a while since I read it.

Edit: Although if memory serves me correctly, Holmes concludes in one story that someone is intelligent based upon their hat size (Craniometry) - anyone remember the story?

I'd like to see what happened to Erika Benteen from DSN's "Homefront" and "Paradise Lost". One of the computer games said she'd managed to redeem herself and get back into the fleet, which would make an interesting storyline. Plus, imagine her meeting someone like Worf again for the first time.

Most of the recent TNG fiction is movie era, yeah. I think the last novel involving the D was Do Comets Dream? in 2003. Everything since was on the E.

Of course, eight of the 14 stories in The Sky's the Limit take place on the D, and all but the last two are pre-Nemesis.

If you want pre-Nemesis stories with lots of Data, I recomend Immortal Coil by Jeffrey Lang and the entire A Time to... miniseries from 2004.

Hmmm....interesting. I hadn't thought about Erika Benteen in ages. I could see her as a plausible/feasible X.O. for Dr. Pulaski, the newest "Captain" aboard the Legacy-Class U.S.S. Mandela, just after the Dominion War in 2379/2380. Thoughts? Feelings? Opinions? In pro-fic circles, I could see her as Chakotay's intermediary/temporary X.O. aboard the Vivace-Class U.S.S. Voyager-A.

I have no idea what any of that means. :)

There is no "Voyager-A," and I've never heard of the "Vivace-class" (why name a ship class after a musical term? is there also a Dolce-class? an Allegro-class?). The original Voyager's doing just fine, thanks. The phrase "just after the Dominion War in 2379/2380" is a contradiction in terms, since the war concluded at the end of 2375. Finally, from (at least) 2377-2379, Dr. Pulaski was doing research at the Phlox Institute (as established in both the novel A Time for War, a Time for Peace and the eBook Progress) and stated in the former book that her days of serving on ships were long behind her.

Also, why is "captain" in quotes?

Psst....the fanfic forum is six forums down from here....

Yeah sorry this is no place for fan-fic dude. And really, isn't there enough licensed fiction out there already and still more coming out to satisfy? I mean, have you seen the size of Voyages of the Imagination? How many people on this BBS besides Jeff Ayers can boast that they've read all of the published Trek fiction any way? Me? No, it's going to be some time for that, I may be the only poster on the board grateful for the recent drop to one MMPB per month, it's finally giving me a chance to catch up! Buy more E-books people! I know you haven't read them all yet!

Bits for subplots or charactees:

Naussicans: all we've seen are thugs and pirates. There have to be others: scientists, engineers, administrators, Parisee Squares players, artists, diplomats, etc. And since Naussican pirates have been operating since at least the 22nd century (or even the 21st, since they appeared as the "tuskers" in the TLE book The Sundered), what kept them from becoming a major player? Political disorganization? A smackdown by the Andorians or Kzintis or anybody?

And the Orions: In a Mirror, Darkly had at least one green Orion woman as bridge crew on the ISS Avenger: since she wasn't running the ship those pheromones can't be as all-powerful as depicted in Bound (at least, not all the time).
