Characters or situations you'd like to see in the books?

I wouldn't mind seeing more of Vall from Diplomatic Implausaiblity. Maybe turn the species of his world into a force within the empire. Might make for an interesting Kligon tale.

More of Tiris Jast before or during her brief (and tragic) run on the Defiant outside of N-Vector, Avatar and the Maximum Warp cameo. Seems like there's a lot of story to tell there.

The Doctor's copy from Living Witness and his fate, particularly after he leaves the Kyrians to head "home"

Tal Celes

The Equinox pre-Voyager appearance... and in fact, Voyager pre-Caretaker with it's original crew

MORE HARRIMAN

Saratoga-era Sisko

24th century Xindii or Suliban

edit: And George Primmin. What the heck ever happened to that guy?

Wasn't Janeway going to rescue Tuvok Voyager's maiden voyage? Reading a book about the launch of a starship is hardly going to be worth the paper it's printed on.

As for Equinox pre-Voyager meeting, I think that might be worth a read.

There's a marvelous Strange New Worlds story that covers this, "Personal Log" by Kevin Killiany in SNW 4.

Except there have already been two pre-"Caretaker" VGR adventures in print, in The Badlands by Susan Wright and The Brave and the Bold by KRAD.

More adventures of Spock's Brain.

No. Ooh Ooh!

The Vulcan Anatomy Thefts Series

Each issue, another piece of Spock is filched. One week, the Spleen, the next the pancreas, maybe big toe, the colon.

And whenever that happens, Kirk don his Ward Fowler alter ego, complete with white suit, broad brimmed hat, lifts, and with his intrepid remote controlled sidekick hunts down the nefarious criminals.

Would someone mind explainig it, because I am totally clueless? I even tried looking on wikipedia and found nothing about this role.

Here.

Found via Wikipedia, by the way. ;)

Edited to actually link to the part of the site about the episode in question.

So how long was there after Voyager launched before she docked at DS9 to pick up the rest of the crew and enter the Badlands?

Cool, thanks. I've never actually seen Columbo, myself.

The episode with Shatner as Ward Fowler is one of my favorites, and Shatner was in top form when he did it. He also came back for an installment of the Columbo revival series in the early '90s, "Butterfly in Shades of Gray," playing a Limbaugh-esque radio host. That one wasn't nearly as much fun. And to this day I have no idea what the title means.

he left DS9 after his temporary assignment and went some place else i expect. anotehr ship, a starbase.

Yeah, I knew that. I sort of meant beyond the shown material, and that it would be interesting to see where he's at these days. Thought he was an interesting enough character while he was around.

I'd like to see some kind of new alien race that just appears unstoppable like the Borg used to be. Something completely unknown. Something that would cross over with all of the series at some point. It's not necessary to have an all-out war ala the Dominion, though. In fact, it would be better if they just appeared every now and then, again like the Borg used to. I think the writers could create something really impressive in this regard since they aren't constricted by budget or special effects in print.

Also, what about the alien parasites from TNG's "Conspiracy?" I always liked the dark tone of the ending to that one. It seemed different from what Star Trek usually was at that point.

And I too have often thought about a meeting between the Dominion and the Borg. Can't believe I haven't seen at least a short story on the subject. A Jem Hadar Borg, anyone? Maybe the T-1000 was a Founder Borg

Shakaar, you should consider reading Lesser Evil, Unity, The Lives of Dax, Q&A, and the Invasion! books. You'll find at least some of what you're asking for in those pages.

The parasites returned in the post-finale DS9 fiction -- it was a running theme throughout several of the stories.

I've read The Lives of Dax, I forgot about that one. I had heard that that the Conspiracy aliens made an appearane in the new DS9R, but I wasn't sure to what extent. I'm in the middle of reading Mission: Gamma as we speak, so I guess I'll find out soon. Q & A is also in my list, as soon as I get caught up with the other post-Nemesis fiction.

As for Invasion!, I really loved the concept when I first heard about it, but the execution left something to be desired. I thought the Furies were pretty creepy in the TOS story, but got less and less interesting as the series continued. The DS9 book was the best, but it seemed to have little to do with the other books. Plus, I don't think the Furies have even been mentioned since.

By the way, has anyone done anything with Chief O'Brien lately? I know he's popped up in at least one CoE story. I think it would be cool to see a Burning Dreams type novel about him, running through Setlik Three, his time on the Enterprise, and of course DS9 and after.
