Characters' birth years

How old is Pike in Discovery?

Hard to say, given how far apart the three actors have been in age. In "The Cage," he was supposed to be around the same age as Kirk in TOS, early to mid-30s (although "The Menagerie" confused the issue by having Mendez tell Kirk that Pike was "about your age" 13 years later), and DSC's current timeframe is 3 years later (2257). Jeffrey Hunter was around 37 when he did "The Cage," so that would make Pike around 40 in DSC. But Bruce Greenwood was c. 52 when he did the 2009 movie, in which his portion spanned 2255-58. Anson Mount is 45, which roughly splits the difference.

Sounds like Pike got wangjangled by timey-wimeyness, probably relieved to end up in the Talos Retirement Home for Ravaged Starfleet Personnel.
