Character Options' 'Classic Who Figures' wave 1.

They have the exclusive rights for the UK. I think the are this years ComicCon exclusives in the US.

Yeah that's what I read too. I'm sure we in the US could order it via another store in the UK, but it would probably be cheaper just to wait for the ComicCon one to show up.

Oh dammit! It had to be Forbidden Planet, didn't it? Their overseas service and basic customer service sucks-out-loud! And, while I'm certain these will be released later as non-exclusives, fuckitall if I'm not going to go ahead and order these...

NOOOO!!!

Why did it have to be them???

You're right. My experience with them is horrible. Just horrible.

And yes, I'm sure they will be released later as non-exclusives too but... damn..

And I notice on the FP site that it says "Exclusive to Forbidden Planet outside the USA & Canada!"

I read that as overseas customers can't order them.

EDIT: Hmm, skimmed the DWF and it seems that they are UK exclusives and that we in NA will be getting our own at some point, via the SDCC.

Just to make sure it's clear, while Forbidden Planet does usually ship overseas, they will NOT be shipping these exclusive figures to North America. And Comic-Con won't be the only place we North Americans will be able to officially obtain them. I know for a fact that Who North America will be stocking them at some point, as they did with last year's exclusives.

And I'm sure the 1st and 2nd Doctors will be released as separate, normal figures at some later point. Well, as long as Character Options doesn't drop the line altogether.

Cool, good to know. :techman:

Nuts! I have just seen these figures on the F.Planet website, and I really want just even one Hartnell and one Troughton figure. I hope that they will have them in their London store, as I can go there to get them.

I am still waiting for them to send me the Cybermen figures, and they were available a few weeks ago at Argos. :(

To all of the North American fans, if you have friend who lives in England, then I suggest lots of grovelling to them!!;)

^ I think Argos got all the first batch - and even then only a few figures per store - to meet book requirements. The date has slipped everywhere else.

Holy crap!

Forbidden Planet will be releasing three exclusive sets of Original Series figures.

1st Doctor and 'Dalek Invasion Of Earth' Dalek.
2nd Doctor and 'Tomb Of the Cybermen' Cyberman.
(both available in colour and black and white versions)

And......

THE Colin Baker in his alternate Blue Costume!!

[notices the rip-off prices] Double holy crap. :(

Wow, cool news!

Although I wonder, is it just the 2-pack that's exclusive to them? Or is this going to be our only way of getting a Harnell and Troughton figure PERIOD?

For Character Options' sake, it'd better not be. If I can't get the figures I really want, like a full set of Doctors, because they're only available as over-priced exclusives, that'll be the day I decide that my (book) shelves are already full, and whatever comes out next year can rot on the (shop) shelves. (It isn't as if I really want to be reminded of the Cyberking's existence anyway).
Be interesting to know how widespread that feeling is - from my RL Who friends, it might be widespread. Quite a few of them have already given up on the figures, and were only tempted back by the Zygon-Sea Devil-Drs4-6 releases earlier this year... I'm reminded of the way the Playmates TNG-etc range ended, with so many Picard figures that the only unused option left was 'Picard with coffee stain on uniform from Q Who', yet no proper Seven-of-Nine figure.

I have a proper Seven-of-Nine figure. In the silver catsuit. In fact, she's on my Enterprise bridge playset right now. Not sure why... damn three-year-old daughter....

Yeah, darn kid. She needs to learn that action figures aren't toys! ;)

Hey, we're raising her right. She's a fan of Star Trek, TNG, and Doctor Who. If she misplaces Seven of Nine on the Enterprise bridge, we can let that go.
