Chapel Character Teaser

Yeah a comms officer is command/services. A linguist is more science albeit they don't have to be all or nothing - Chapel is a researcher working as a nurse so your mileage may vary.
Bit of a "soft science". Funny, McGivers, a historian is a redskirt. While Palamas, an Archeology and Anthropology Officer is a blueskirt. But that's Star Trek.

I think an A&A officer would be a full time job and it's silly we didn't see her more often. Another reason why Chapel's education with Korby could be a gold mine storywise with a focus on exo archaeology.

Earth historian not so much.

Whether history is a science or simply a study or discipline depends on the authority you consult, and it was less widely referred to in the U.S. as a science in the mid-20th century. So some uncertainty on the part of the costumer concerning McGiver would be understandable.

Also, Theiss may just have thought that she looked better in red. Yeah, that happened too.

Yep.

Where've you been? Starfleet people have Delta piercings...

Good interview. Her character is probably the one I'm looking forward to the most other than Ortegas.

"Her backstory wasn't explored..."

Oh oh: I hope they didn't forget about Korby...
Let 'em.

He'd never come up before on TOS, after all, and never would again - even when they encountered other androids, which they always treated as a new thing.

I believe that's literally true, at least in all pre-streaming-era Trek.* Korby was only ever referenced in "... Little Girls...".

* - I suppose it's possible his name is mentioned in an obscure Okudagram or the like, but so what if it is.

This is the same team that brought us
Assignment Earth
references. I don't think they'll forget I AM ROGER KORBY!!

One of the best line readings in TOS tbh
It isn’t the same team. Different show runner and writers room.

Using your logic you should of used Lower Decks as an example as it references everything.
