UK viewers should catch Rome wasn't built in a day if they can. Bob might be along to give his verdict too. It's got everything. It's educational, it's entertaining, it's unintentionally hilarious.

And here I am, right on cue. Like your dancing monkey...
It was an interesting show, bit of a cop out on the whole "It must be authentic thing" why not hire the man power needed then, rather than 6 guys to add drama? But it did make me laugh at how our lazy modern builders were whinging and complaining about wanting to leave at 4 and all that.

Dicky Bow Academic blowing a gasket about Forbidden Wheelbarrows was hi-larious!

The labourer was brilliant when he got a telling off from the site boss. "I think he should apologise and buy me a cake".

We said at the offing that even if only 6 builders had been used, there would have been about 20 slaves and various donkey carts.

We thought the site manager was bang out of order sacking the chippy. Everybody else, when something went wrong the site manager says "fix it". When the carpenter fucked up instead of saying fix it, he fires him on the say-so of someone who isn't actually attached to the project in any way. Then to pile insult on injury, they give the job to TWO men who produce period specific timbers professionally, with machined timbers in their own workshop. It was bloody unfair, especially since the site manager loathes the 'labourer', openly calling him a fat tosser, yet he never manages to fire him.

What a great show. It's unmissable.
