Change in the guidelines!

I was brushing up on the official guidelines in preparation of the release of our first episode and I noticed that there seem to be quite a BIG change in them I was not aware of!

Official guidelines: https://www.startrek.com/en-un/fan-films
Old version: https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/business/business-news/cbs-paramount-tell-star-trek-905960/amp/

Specifically, the first of the original ten points is totally gone and that was quite a significant one:

The fan production must be less than 15 minutes for a single self-contained story, or no more than 2 segments, episodes or parts, not to exceed 30 minutes total, with no additional seasons, episodes, parts, sequels or remakes.

Welcome back to series and longer movies, I guess!

I did a cursory reading of the rest and think this is the only change. But what a change!

You never needed to follow them because they're not rules, just guidelines where you can make a judgement call on whether your material could be taken to court. I doubt that would happen to you if you state its filmed for non profit and acknowledge the studios and a special thanks. I can hardly wait to see what you've done.

we know that, but we still tried to, just to be sure. The first point was the one we were having more difficulty following, as our film is closer to 40 minutes totally than 30.

Thanks! The first episode (of two) is filmed and editing is almost finished, still need to start on scoring and on the English dub. Tentative release date in April or so!

Very weird: the point in question is back as it were. I guess they messed up the list (which may be automatically numbered?) while updating the site and just noticed, either reading here or on Facebook about the change. Weird.

Ok, I was confused. I thought the guidelines looked the same.

I'm guessing I missed the previous version you linked to.

Can you show some screenshots, if that's okay?

i wish I took them. Basically yesterday the first point was gone and the remaining nine ones got their numbers changed by one (2 becoming 1 and so on). A few more people on Facebook confirmed this after I posted there as well.

Thanks! Is it from a local cache or from some online service? I tried archive.org and google and they didn’t have it.

No. Screenshots from your Star Trek project, not those guidelines.
aaaah!
Some preproduction screens and the teaser trailer we put together last year are on our (in dire need of updates) site: http://www.trekfanfilm.it/

More recent photos from the production itself are on our Facebook and Instagram.
