Challenge Of The Basics Of ST Design

Maybe more of a request for consultation...

I'm working on some rough sketches switching around design elements; specifically, a design where the saucer on a traditional ST layout is the secondary hull.

I'd LOVE to see what people come up with off the tops of their heads...

Interesting. The saucer serves as a hub, off which components branch.

Here goes... Here's a dead project, an attempt to reinvent an enemy for the Metaluna to fight with...(it was going to be the new "old" Romulan ship)
Anyway, vertical saucer, (inspired by Polaris, yes ) odd embedded "2ndary hulls" and
nacelles angling out the top...the "bridge(s) would be those bumps on either side...

I guess this sort of fits:

This is my long neglected design for a hospital-ship. All of the ship's primary systems would be contained in the central hull leaving the saucer exclusively for medical facilities.

IIRC, Atolm did a few ships with that kind of concept...

I really like the Breen vessels and the rogue Borg vessel--asymmetrical yet still balanced. I wonder if a starfleet design--perhaps a large mobile asteroid-based ship might fit.
