There was a Short Trek production posted on Instagram earlier this month (now deleted) that had Chabon hashtagged, this might be it.

Ok, but this doesn’t really tell us a lot, since Chabon still needs to find and evolve Picard’s TNG character, which is more difficult than inventing original fiction. We’ll just have to see how P turns out, without bothering too much with hype in the run-up.

I don't like Rick Berman. But if you like any Star Trek made from 1987 to 2005, besides TFF and TUC, then you like something he had a hand in. It's not a matter of Rick Berman in and of itself, but who he had under him and what was mandated from above. But whatever I liked or didn't like, Rick Berman was there for it. He might've been more hands-on at times, he might've been more hands-off at other times (the more hands-off, the better IMO), but he was there.

It's the same deal with Alex Kurtzman. If you like any Star Trek made from 2017 to 20__, you'll like something he had a hand in.
