Celebrity Cameos in Trek

How often do we see celebrity cameos in Trek? I'm talking about the people who do one small scene or even just a background character either because they wanted to be in Star Trek since they're a fan, or as a ratings stunt. Roles like Joan Collins' Edith Keeler wouldn't apply here, since it was a substantial role and she was hired specifically for the part. Nor would DeForest Kelly's appearance in TNG's premiere count since that was another appearance of his pre-established character.

These are the ones I can think of offhand:
  • Christian Slater - The night duty officer who woke Sulu on the Excelsior in STVI.
  • Stephen Hawking - Played himself in a poker game with Data in TNG's Descent
  • Vijay Amritraj - Former tennis pro turned actor, appeared as captain of the Yorktown in STIV (only learned of this one last week!)
  • Prince (now King) Abdullah II bin al-Hussein - background character in VOY's Investigations
  • Astronaut Mae Jemison - Lt Palmer in TNG's Second Chances
  • Astronaut E. Michael Fincke - engineer in ENT's TATV
  • Astronaut Terry Virts - engineer in ENT's TATV
Personally, I think the astronaut cameos are fantastic, since they're people that have actually been to space! Can anyone think of any others that I've missed?

^^Twice, season 3's The Forgotten and season 4's Affliction, where he was named Ensign Rivers.
What about "the most interesting man in the world" on "The Corbomite Manuever"?
I never knew about that one, but yes, but a quick look online reveals he was a redshirt in that episode. Damn, now I wish they had worked that into those commercials. "In Star Trek, he wore a red shirt and lived to talk about it."

Jane Weidlin(from the Go-Go's) played a view screen star fleet officer in ST4.
BTW..Jane Weidlin...hubba hubba.

The most interesting man in TOS may be a rumor/hoax. Goldsmith himself said he never appeared on Star Trek. http://interviewly.com/i/jonathan-goldsmith-aug-2013-reddit

Well, it is listed on his IMDB page. I know IMDB being wrong isn't a scandalous idea, but he probably should look into getting that corrected if it is indeed false.

WWE's Big Show popping up in Enterprise always amused me. I don't recall him doing much other than being "that big Orion guy" so could have done more and I just don't remember.

Iggy Pop as a Vorta on DS9

The Rock in "Tsunkatse."

Thats who made me think of Big show, but I'm not sure he'd count as he had quite a big(ish) supporting role. And strangely.... his first on TV (outside wrestling) and now he's a huge earner!

Bryan Singer in Nemesis.

That reminds me of one - Robert Hewitt Wolfe. He was very briefly in the background at the end of DS9's season 5. When Jadzia agrees to marry Worf, he's getting carried into the airlock to the Defiant.

James Worthy, basketball player, as a Klingon on TNG (Gambit)

Tom Morello, guitarist for Rage Against The Machine, as Crewman Mitchell on Voyager (Good Shepherd)

Who also contributed a few lines to the Borg battle comm chatter in First Contact.

Are you sure that was Kelsey Grammer? I always thought it was Michael Dorn (the admiral hailed both the Defiant and the Bozeman in that scene, so it could have been either Worf or Bateson)...besides, why would someone as famous as Grammer only contribute one word ("Acknowledged") to a film like this?

Because he was asked? After didn't Frank Langella asked to go uncredit for his appearences in DSN's The Circle trilogy?

Sometimes an actor will do something for a variety of reasons other than money or fame.

Indeed, such as De Kelley insisting on only being paid SAG scale for his appearance in "Farpoint", and Kelsey Grammer himself getting fully Beast-ed up for a cameo in X-Men: Days of Future Past.
