I figure the bridge set alone---if ever assembled again will take up 1000 square feet. This isn't a studio. It is a clubhouse/self storage place for Alec and his toys. And he says this is going to be a "film school" too? I really question his sanity at this point.

AxaMonitor: "his telling supporters in a Facebook video the weekend before that the Axanar short film may be the last Star Trek fan film Axanar Productions planned to produce."
Really? There currently 'are' a bizillion homemade webseries being produced on YouTube. There might be budding webseries film makers in that area, it being an already bustling film area and all. I could see staying in film business by going 'that' direction could bring just a whole bunch of conventions for the defendant. Which is good. An acting studio could be fit in because producing an in-house production is not in the least required so that niche would fit the defendant's production company and allow room for the film school as well as the prop sales business.

Plus broadening the crowdfunding source, meet a broader group of filmers. He has our IKEA furniture for the office so it would be looking close to professional right off the bat.

If there's a new direction in the air, good on him.

I think that would be a terrific idea; make the two segment ax'd-we-are + all the attending documentaries and what not. Then get out of the limiting ST fan filming and step out into the bigger world of all kinds of filming. And Native Advertising and whatever else.

Poor Alec Peters. He raised barely $20k on his latest effort to save Axanar, when he could have made it all with the $1.5m he raised over that past few years and squandered.

Yep, probably just enough to cover the move. Now he's back to zero and is likely going to start up yet another fundraising campaign.

When a dog pisses on a fire hydrant, he's just being a dog.

Alec Peters lying about the new facility and hyping it up? Just being Alec Peters.

I especially love the line where the Axanar film "will be" the last trek film Axanar Productions makes. No, Alec. We all know that was the Vulcan short, cause you ain't making another film.

He said in one of his video updates that axanar productions isn't going to do more films after axanar but will help other productions out.

This might just mean that the corporation Axanar Productions is going to be shut down. What with the stellar reputation, and all.

What possible credentials does anyone there have for running a school or providing services into media industries? Or interest in doing the hard work on something that's not Trek (except for facesaving about "we were sincere in our claims all along, so don't sue us")? How many fan films are gonna want to work with them? They're not gonna be able to do another fair-use attack on another IP after the rep they've gained, either.

I'm not really seeing a lot of mileage with these objectives given these people. I'm not really seeing what business they are "in the business to stay" for. The only business they were really all in on was IP expropriation.

"True Fans" (copyright pending) will still do business. The rest are just "haters" (copyright also pending).
