CBS/Paramount sues to stop Axanar

No, they've stopped - that's why he's running for Atlanta with his tail tucked behind his legs. His latest money grab failed. True, there will always been some idiots who will give another idiot money, but with each subsequent failure to meet expectations, his reputation will get more and more synonymous with not being able to deliver.

One would hope so. But there are at least hundreds of millions of Trek fans, and he touched only about 20k of them. Maybe he is known about by a million? Still pickings around. But yes, strike oil, less likely. And receiving a nickname from Wesley probably doesn't help :D

For any situation, if someone really is making a threat of violence rather than just blowing off steam, then the target should be advised so they can seek appropriate legal protections. Discussion of existence of threats should not be placed here. Even speculating on menacing activities "possibly being likely" is just out of bounds, IMO. Please no one go there at all, ever.

Fucker is just out there man. If you are still shooting in LA why do you even need a studio in Atlanta. He's obsessed with owning a warehouse....ummmm studio and being the MGM of films never produced.
AND - if he's shooting in L.A., what is he going to drive the various sets BACK to L.A. from Atlanta?

Also, love that he's PUBLICLY promoting plans for yet another Star Trek: Axanar film fundraiser. I guess CBS/Paramount really don't care much about the overall settlement terms since the got Alec to admit fault and renounce his claims that elements of the Star Trek IP shouldn't have Copyright protection, etc. I guess as long as the Axanar film (if it ever gets made) is just 2X15 minute segments, C/P could care less about the 'letter' of the settlement. Sad, but from a Corporate standpoint I guess understandable.

I can understand them waiting until there is so much evidence of intent to violate the settlement and actions violating the settlement that W&S would have no appetite to offer any fight over protecting the 'win' they obtained. It looks like the studios will not have to wait all that long.

It could be a strategy. Give Axanar an easy out of the lawsuit, and wait for Axanar to bring all the force of law back upon them not over whether Trek can be fair use, but rather, whether Axanar violated the settlement.

I'm pretty sure CBS/P is keeping a close eye on what Alec is up to.

You have to be careful not to make it a prequel or a sequel.

I almost let myself lose it when I read that line, because it's a total non sequitur that does jack to answer the question asked, but I had to remind myself "It doesn't matter, cause he ain't making another film."

"How can he shoot in L.A. if he's moving everything to Atlanta?"

Doesn't matter. He ain't making another film.

"How can he get away with raising more funds to film Axanar when the settlement says he can't?"

Doesn't matter. He ain't making another film.

"If he has no money, how is he going to make the new studio ready to film anything?"

Doesn't matter. His goal is to use the promise of another film to make money, for him to spend, on his goals. He can't spend that money on his goals if he spends it on making another film, so he ain't making another film.

Do not waste more time being confused by what he says or does. Just remember: He ain't making another film.

Is this statement actually confirmed to be defendantGarth speaking? @RedForman, do you know the source of that quote? Is it a defendantGarth tweet? Some comment section somewhere?

CBS/Paramount! You are on top of these things, right?!

It looks to be a Facebook screencap (was posted in the Axamonitor group, don't know its original origins).

I find it hard to believe he'd be that stupid though. If his latest fundraising efforts didn't let him do anything in CA, I doubt he's going to find much more success in GA, despite the lower operating costs. Despite his blatant narcissism, people are becoming wise to his games and I'm starting to bet that there will be a definite point where his lying isn't going to work anymore and at that point, he'll be SOL

(that is of course, unless Mike Bawden and whoever else is concocting some BS scheme in the shadows and LFIM is just a front now)

What about teh ROb? What role will he play in the new Axanar Productions? The truncated version of Axanar? All this and many more questions will be answered on the next episode of Soap.

Despite him being spineless, he still gives off the presence of someone with half a brain. I'm betting that at some point, he somehow got out from under LFIM's thumb to attempt to salvage what he passes off as a career. Now if by some perverse stroke of luck, Axanar does get made, that might change, but I doubt it will.

There is a mystery to be unlocked. Many a writer and producer have pounded the keyboard and pondered the question for over fifty years to discover just what Star Trek is.
The LFIM has laid claim to the answer and fans have handed over the cash for the big unveiling. Was Prelude a hint where the key may be found, In some galaxy far far away? Sorry Alec maybe the right key but the wrong lock.
I doubt Alec has anymore of a clue than I do, maybe it doesn't exist but there's this Star Trek story about a used Star Ship salesman that has a sign stuck on an used ship that reads "THIS CAN BE YOURS FOR 10,000 QUATLOOS"
(If my kickstarter reaches $1.5 million I'll finish the rest of the story)

(Checks pocket)Dang! All outta quatloos. Can I donate in oolongs?

Everyone is missing the big picture! WHAT ABOUT BOOMER?!!! How does this affect the loyal cat who made the studio/warehouse/whatever his home? THINK OF THE CAT!!:rommie:
If that cat could talk, what tales he'd tell,
About Peters and his Dealer and the mule as well.
But the cat was cool,
And he never said a mumblin' word.
