CBS/Paramount sues to stop Axanar

Sure. He'll always be famous for the Awesome Film That Was Never Made™. It's really hard to knock all the free drinks and panel appearances he'll get out of that.

Depending on the terms of the settlement, he might even get to keep the studio, allowing him to work on whatever he wants in the future. I don't think that's that great of a victory, but it seems to have been one of Alec's goals from the outset.

I think the studio is a stone around his neck. It's incomplete and there are better rental options around.

And he no longer has funds to finish it.

Let him keep it

Oh yes, before I forget. Let me add a few

I was hoping we'd get to page 1701.

that would be easy.
All I need do is give my opinion on the easy to offend fan film makers and the tripe they produce and the replies will be flowing in.
Already a few crying, would not take much to have them go completely into full meltdown mode.

Just say the word and I can start, think of the post count :D

Sorry if its been said, but this thread is too long....

does anyone think that Peters is actually *happy* about this? He doesn't have to make nearly as long a "film" now, and has a great excuse for it ending up more mediocre then expected, and having much less time to fill.... all that complicated movie making stuff, ya know....
Well, 'm sure in his mind, Alec peters is happy about the following:

- He's NOT going to have to pay a huge damage award to CBS/Paramount. (It remains to be seen if any Donors file a Civil suit, or the FTC or California Attorney General, IRS et al file any type of Criminal charges at some future date.)

- The Axanar financials (both versions) showing in many respects exactly HOW all the donor money was spent will not become public record; and Alec peters now won't have to answer any questions regarding those financials in a public Trial.

- If/When he makes the revised (two 15 minute segments) version of "Axanar' - WHEN (and don't mean IF, I mean WHEN) all the Axanar supporters see the overall script for the bad fanwank it is (and not the most amazing or "true to" Star Trek story ever made); Alec Peters will of course spin the result as: "hey, blame CBS/Paramount as the original full feature length version I had planned would have been the BEST Star Trek ever made..." -- and sadly, some of those insipid morons will buy that claim.

So, yeah - in the end, (assuming the settlement is ultimately approved and hits no legal or procedural snags) more than anyone else involved, Alec Peters actually did get away with major copyright violations and outright fraud (even if he did start out with intent to do the latter - that IS what actually happened here); with (so far) barely a slap on the wrist; and was able to live a small 'jet set' lifestyle by doing practically nothing except feed his own self-serving hype train.

He's probably happily celebrating with Sushi today.

Can't let it go, huh?
I guess thin skin is going around.

That studio is a vanity money pit flushing cash down the drain. A McFail choice on AP's part. I'm waiting to read AP's impending public statement admitting he overreached crossing copyright boundaries.

Well you do live up to your blogs declaration that you are a "professional cunt". How's the pay?

And with this settlement my work here is done. Just one more duty to perform.

Did someone say, "Cash"?

It's been an honor, Neil! But I'm optimistic, this thread will not die too soon... :D

For this thread to continue in perpetuity all we have to do is wait for AP/LFIM's natural inclination to post on social media to manifest. That's good for 5-10 pages per incident. :techman:
That's the spirit! :bolian:

Omg! I've been so incredibly polite by not suggesting anyone actually take a peek at those horridly done photo shops you been pushing on this fan site for years.
My god man, I can understand why you're so bitter at us. So many hours of hard work put into them and so little attention. Yes I can see why we must cry but not for us.

I predict that it will be much less than the 60 days AP referenced in his email to donors for details of the "secret" parts of the settlement to leak. It will become known that not only is this not a win for the Axahat in Chief, but a major loss.

Also, I'll predict that any release of an Axanar film in any form will be not only lauded by the Kool-Aid drinking faithful, but proclaimed to be the second coming of Gene Roddenberry.

Not to besmirch Little Jimmy Dickens, but may the Great Bird of the Galaxy fly up AP's nose. :techman:

I await the hint-dropping and winking - hey, I know what's in the settlement and you don't, neener cubed, that sort of thing. And then something will leak and we'll find out the settlement involved chainsawing a tree on some backwater planet while wearing war paint and ritually chanting.
