:ack::rommie:
I think this is the first time I ever actually watched the Vulcan scene from stem to stern.

There is no dialogue until 00:40. Before that, it's a bunch of ships. There is no dialogue after 2:39. After that, it's scenery and then a few links (not clickable - and you can create a clickable area in YouTube, folks).

So, basically, it was a 01:59-long snatch of dialogue with a bunch of straight walking on what was as slow and lumbering as setting #1 on a treadmill. The subject of the conversation is seceding from the Federation plus a regular old trope about the humans being stronger because of their emotions, yadda, yadda, yadda.

I would put it to all that the scene is over 90% verisimilitude porn. If donors would watch it with the start/end clipped off, and the green screen returned, how badly would they be clamoring for this? Swap out Graham for someone else, even someone who was in TV, say, thirty years ago but not in Trek, and would they care? This is smoke and mirrors and pretty effects, done by Tobias and Tommy, as I recall. And isn't Tommy gone, and I bet Tobias would not be interested in doing any more work unless he were paid (not allowed under the new guidelines).

So, um, what are the supporters fighting for (and donating for, folks) now?

I've been asking that question since "Prelude." Nobody's been able to give me a straight answer yet.

Wait, AP is suing Terry now?

You just can't make this stuff up.

Terry implied that's what he thinks will happen in short order, LFIM hasn't actually done anything yet. Meanwhile, I'm over here like........

latest

To put a proper FASA / 'Four Years War' spin on this, Terry is starting to remind me a bit of Admiral Kamato..........

Oh man, this is gonna be good. I don't think I can even sum up the slightest bit of guilt anymore at the delight I'm feeling at the infighting. Not only is Alec not going to win this lawsuit, he's gonna get taken to the cleaners.

No mention of the camera bumps found in this "fully-professional, independent Star Trek film"?

Last night, I was catching up on events after being out-of-town for a few days.

I read Terry's threat to Alec and various places talking about it, mostly praising him. I said to myself, "Wait, he's a good guy now?"

No. I remember his attitude before he fell out with Peters. Wonder when Bawden and the others will turn. [/cynic]

Dollars to donuts Peters is hiding/sheltering the $$$.

I sympathize with Terry but that doesn't excuse his previous attitude here and elsewhere.

But the clock seems to be ticking on when others will turn on Peters. I have doubts that RMB will ever turn. He seems neck deep in this. Stranger things, however, have happened.

There's no drama. There's no tension. There's no conflict between the two characters in the scene, neither one is wanting something or running away from something. It's a bland walk-and-talk, exposition drop, shot in the same manner as the STAR WARS prequels — walk, stop, shot reverse shot. Bland and dull all around.

In other words it's like watching paint dry or grass grow...
1.5 million just to watch grass grow & paint dry...
I can do the same for free...
;-)

I think as long as Bawden & Alec stay within their own little bubble and pretend like nothing's wrong, that someone like RMB will be more inclined to stay. To make RMB leave, I think he'd have to be threatened directly.......he may not be named in the suit w/C-P, but given the way Terry's been running his mouth, there might be an email/incriminating document that could move things along........

Holy s**t. If the above is real; I'm sure C/P will get some interesting hard evidence in the very near future. If there turns out to be any "Smoking Gun" type stuff regarding the use of Pledged/Donor funds; Alec Peters may want to engage a Criminal attorney in the near future.

It's great that everyone's getting excited about the forthcoming firestorm that Mr McIntosh is threatening to launch (I am too) but it's worth remembering that, as he has made very clear, if he receives an apology then he won't be doing anything at all. He wants an apology. He doesn't particularly want to see Alec Peters brought down. I wouldn't be at all surprised to see the guy back on the Axanar roster eventually if he gets what he wants and his personal circumstances change again.

So maybe don't include him in the Trek BBS Secret Santa list just yet....
