I hate to swear but that darn Peters.
Where is the Polaris crowd funding? Get me DB on the line and lets get this thing moving.

That's awful news. Sigh. Thanks Alec Peters, you putz. <---- swearing in Yiddish is fun.

I've got a certain four-letter word that I feel applies to Alec, but I refrain from using that in polite company. For now, I shall say I detest that horse's anus and the continued damage he causes.

Fairly handy guide to Yiddish swear words (NSFW, of course): http://groupthink.kinja.com/a-guide-to-swearing-in-yiddish-483890863

However, a schlemiel and a schlemazel are not interchangeable terms!

A schlemiel accidentally spills hot soup down the neck of a schlemazel. E. g. a schlemiel is a klutz, whereas a schlemazel (note the root word, mazel, which means luck) is an unfortunate or unlucky individual, one whom the universe conspires against.

It makes perfect sense, then, in the context of Laverne & Shirley. One of them is always the schlemiel, the other the schlemazel. I think I'll go watch the show. We can all commiserate over their poor fortunes around a bowl of rabbit stew when it's over. :D

I'm reasonably sure that at this point even if CBS/Paramount gave Peters and Burnett the green light to make their little movie, and they could keep their little studio, and threw in a couple of million just for the hell of it, those two would find a way to screw it up. Then they'd turn around and blame C/P for their failure. The Axanerds would then call for Les Moonves' head on a pike, and LFIM and Co-conspirators would claim a moral victory.

In other words, it doesn't matter how it turns out, the Axahats will place blame elsewhere and the True Fans will eat it up.

Oh, but everyone knows that the lying [fact based] haters [fans] directed by Bad Robot [common sense and intellect] are the real [shadow projection] cause [fault describers] that resulted in all the misunderstanding [clarity] and bad feelings [lawsuit] towards the nonprofit [for profit] independent [IP stealing] fan film [studio] being backed [misguidedly backed] by fans [0.001% of fans] to create true [FASA wargame reenactment] Trek.

I am saddened by this news.

As am I.

I've known Nick Cook for a few years on this board and had the distinct pleasure of meeting him and his family last summer when they visited Los Angeles; he is every bit the stand-up, class act in real life that he is online. I can only imagine then that this decision was born out of much consideration on his part and probably not easily made. I totally respect and support whatever decision he makes on the subject, and I respect him even more for managing to to gracefully toe the line and remained neutral during this entire mess. If more people were like Nick, we probably wouldn't be in this mess to begin with.

It would be easy to use this as an opportunity to post another diatribe against Alec Peters and Rob Burnett, but at this point I think it's pretty apparent their shenanigans, avarice and stupidity are at the root cause of all this so I'll leave it at that.

To Nick and the great team at Intrepid, you guys are great and will always have a lifelong fan in me. Hopefully this will all get sorted out soon and you'll be able to return to your production sooner rather than later.
