CBS/Paramount sues to stop Axanar

25k for patches seems high. If we assume 10000 donors need patches that $2.50 per patch. Given their size, I highly doubt they cost that much. They should be well below $1.00 each to produce at worst. They possibly could have bought 25000 patches at a buck each assuming they would need them for future distribution, but this seems unlikely to me.

In continuing with your analogy this thread (and our discussion) started at the 'impeachment' phase - and when that happens to a politician - discussing his past behaviour or his actions that lead to this is HARDLY 'sour grapes'.

As far as calling this thread an impeachment, as if it were an official entity, [more laughter]. How grandiose. My thoughts about that are already stated: It's a self-important and growth industry built upon the very subject it despises. For 810 pages now, Alec Peters controls your destiny and every heartbeat spent and wasted here posting about him. The insidious power you've given him over your lives by spending time on it is astonishing.

@JWPlatt
I think what @Noname Given meant in his quoted comment above was that this thread, and our discussion, started at the time of the issuing of the Lawsuit ('the impeachment'), not that this thread was 'the impeachment'!

Yes, it would be inaccurate; that's not my claim.
Well, to me, your argument is only true as far as it goes. Does my spending so much time discussing this case mean somehow I've ceded control of my life to Alec Peters? Obviously, if he didn't exist then I wouldn't be spending time on this. But does it rise to the level of pathetic as you seem to imply?

Possibly, but your assertion needs to address what everyone here believes is at stake, because stakes are what separate pathetic word-wrangling on discussion boards from illuminating discussion on topics of importance. I can speak only for myself, of course, but the stakes are sufficiently high for me to judge it worthy of my time. If you want to criticize people here for spending their time on issues they deem worthy of their time, then examine what's at stake for them and judge those stakes on their merits. Otherwise your comments come across as merely broad-brush dismissal of other people's points of view by lumping them together as victims of narcissistic trolling.

I wonder when we'll hear what their announcement will be from Axanar that their lawyers will clear? Think it will be right after Monday's conference?

Yes. I was speaking to the issue and the thread - not the post I quoted. To extrapolate my point a little bit further, don't expect the target of this thread's venom to change no matter how hard you try to beat him down. I use post quotes to speak to a point and the thread - not the person. I've found some people think I expect them to reply when I quote them, as if it's a personal message. While a reply is welcome, they are mistaken that I expect one.
Then there's no point quoting me is there, especially when you "interpret" my post into something I never said.
