CBS/Paramount sues to stop Axanar

"A true victory is to make your enemy see they were wrong to oppose you in the first place. To force them to acknowledge your greatness."

"Then everything that the donators were, everything that they gave us, is lost......"

Its such a shame. So much motivated, innovative talent, so many fans willing to pitch in, all derailed by trying to game the CBS boundaries for profit...

personally, the spell is a bit broken for me if the orator's other hand is in my wallet pocket. :wtf:

or, if the idea is that arguments here or the judge will eventually get through, one can only hope its before Axanar has crossed the last bridge too far to prevent personal bankruptcies, AG lawsuits, and other tragedies.

@Karzak, those are actually some pretty impressive credits if you ask me. Definitely a hell of a lot more impressive than Peters', unlike him you've actually worked on real Hollywood productions.

Wow, that's a pretty shitty thing to say. I have a feeling a lot of minimum wage workers probably work a lot harder for their money Peters does.

This. On BOTH accounts. And a very pleasant surprise about the man behind Karzak. :)

I know this can be kind of a bad thing to say, but Peters is just one of those people who just gives me the creeps when I see him. I don't why, but there are some people that just creep me out, even if they never actually say or do anything creepy, and Peters is one of those people.

I wouldn't want to see thread death from drifting into purely personal criticism -- understandable, that last AP quote was pretty provocative to be sure. onward to whatever may be news. wonder what coverage is emerging of the filing. That trek trivia characterization, wonder if it will be the wider take.

I dunno if that's a bad thing. Based on the things I've read about the case, his rants about the haters, and his online behavior, he comes across as skeevy (in my opinion).
If it walks like a duck, and quacks like a duck...............

Nothing to do with my professional judgment, by my grandmother always used to say about people she didn't feel comfortable - "she/he gives me bad vibes". This guy does as well.

And that's the #1 reason I didn't donate.

On a different note, I got shanghaied by my actual job for a few weeks, and damn. So many pages I don't even have time to read them... I've only caught up on the last ten pages or so.

I can see it's business as usual, in truly verbose fashion. :)

Just in time to have to wait for, what, April? Bah!

from TrekToday article, I assume this is a quote from the response:

Until the film has been completed, the Court will not be able to compare Defendants’ film with the relevant Star Trek films and episodes at issue to determine whether the themes, mood, setting, pace, plot and characters are substantially similar.

How can anyone argue this when scripts are already circulated to talent agencies?

We should start a thread, call it "Axanar Rules" and make it like the old "Chuck Norris Rules" from a few years ago... and use it to just detail all the tragic and hilarious missteps Lord Garth has made as he bungled his way through this farce. And it's just oblique enough of a title that the Axanar-faithful will tweet it without realizing they're helping the cause. Might even make for a good Twitter channel. #AxanarRules

Alec Peters could easily make $200,000.00 in Hollywood. Too bad he only made $38,000.00 last year for doing nothing. #AxanarRules

"Prelude to Axanar" got 2 million views on YouTube. Too bad only 22,000 people clicked "Like." #AxanarRules

Or something like that.
