CBS/Paramount sues to stop Axanar

I'm always editing my posts before clicking reply without checking them over they end up reading like a mental patient wrote them.
 
I am going to hire @Squiggy to make my fan film "Prelude to Prosecution."
It will be 30 minutes long and will contain interviews with various members of the Axanar team - each portrayed by "professional" actors - interspersed with shots of the U.S.S. Ares crashing into buildings, getting shot down by CBS C&D7s, blowing up from hubris drive overloads, etc. Tony Todd has already agreed to contemplate tweeting about his possible decision to accept or reject our proposed concept art for an offer sheet that may or may not contain his name.

That comes from the editing. Sometimes we make things worse without noticing, change one part of a sentence but don't adjust the rest.

Yes, not a fan of that exchange. At least we got our film done and showed it to CBS like we planed to do. The big difference is we (STNV and STC also) respect CBS and understand that Star Trek is their property not ours.

Not only that, but now they're trying to paint themselves as protectors of all fan productions, which is hypocritical on so many levels, especially considering Peters snitched on others and tried to convince CBS to take them down.

Doesn't mean they don't happen now, but a firm is probably under no obligation and it doesn't change things much except in the context of, in non-pro bono matters, whether a client can conceivably pay legal bills. Doing a background check to answer that question may or may not be ethical, BTW. Lawyers are not required to starve, but at the same time, if they only take cases because someone can pay, that means a lot of people would go without representation (hence pro bono exists). But I digress.

And now for something utterly made up about Alec Peters... I tweeted a complete lie about him - accusing him of theft and assault of a Head of State. He has replied...

Man I wonder if any of the 20 John Doe candidates are pissed that Axanar is pushing back this hard. This pretty much gaurantees that CBS will name John Does and add them to the suit right?

I understand your viewpoint, but I don't agree... Alec has clearly seen it as a joke and is replying as such. If he has been reading this thread, he knows I have been posting the tweets here from time to time - lets just have a bit of a laugh about the whole thing before we go mental
