CBS/Paramount sues to stop Axanar

John Oliver may have called and said we want to do a special on you, and it finally got into Alec's head that the conceit of Trek being abandoned IP is a colossal mistake.

I agree that MGM was a customer of Propworx. I give Alec credit for having the drive to create and operate Propworx, but none for 'living and learning' while denying the MGM aspect of it.

The whole approach of saying "I do it for you and you get the part you want, so don't express discomfort with my methods" and "others do it so don't blame me for doing it" -- well, what can you say. Its the stock and trade of PR departments of large corporations defending oil spills or the like. You just wish they would clean up their acts and not have the problems, instead of offering these arguments.

So the next time some insane hater rants about me and Propworx, ignore them. We have facts on our side and hundreds of very happy customers. And most of them are on this forum.

  • I would consider MGM a client of Propworx by my understanding of the context, which is close enough to customer for me. I guess it's true, though, they didn't lose a dime -- they lost 3,000,000 of them if the numbers I've heard are correct.
  • Oh, but it was only MGM, it must be okay!

Yes, and probably one on the MAIN reasons MGM went into Bankruptcy was because of satellite companies like Propworx owning them MILLIONS of dollars. What cracks me up is how Mr. Peters rationalizes his failed company bankruptcy as 'part of business' - yes, part of BAD business practices and an indicator that you probably shouldn't be using that as a way to continue in something that failed spectacularly under his leadership.

There's another difference between MGM and Mr. Peters: When I paid money to MGM, I got to SEE the film I paid for. For myself - 3 minutes of 'Axanar' seems hardly worth the $75 pledge I made to his first Axanar feature KS - and again, that WAS supposed to go towards the film - NOT to 'infrasturce' (as Mr. Peters calls his newly carpeted offices and studio.)

"the wrath of fans" covers both phases: the justification for taking the IP, and the consequences of fans realizing why it got to this point.
