CBS/Paramount sues to stop Axanar

The most likely scenario, as I see it, is Axanar/Peters will file a motion to dismiss on fair use grounds. That motion gets denied. The studios get a preliminary injunction. Peters turns around and tells his donors, "Hey, I tried, but I can't justify continuing to spend YOUR money on a cause where I can't guarantee success." He surrenders and hopes he's done enough to dissuade any of the donors from suing him.

Doesn't his ability to surrender presume that the plaintiff is willing to settle in the first place? Especially if they want to get through at least discovery for some reason (eg. to gather info on interactions with KS/IGG?)

If you wanted an "ethnically appropriate" actor to play Khan, Naveen Andrews would have worked perfectly. But the casting of BP seems, in retrospect, a rather stupid bit of misdirection.

As I've written before, the studios could still demand that information as a condition of any settlement. The studios are not going to pay expensive outside counsel to conduct months of discovery just to gather intelligence. And my guess is Peters will be happy to hand over that information if it means facing a reduced financial payment.

Not seeing the problem with "Magic Blood"
1) Blood base therapies are a real thing.
2) Khan's miraculous recuperative abilities are established in "Space Seed".
3) The "Magic Blood" is established in Act One.
4) It's reiterated in Act Four.
5) Miracle cures are common place in Star Trek and rarely laid out as well.
Not a problem, in a hundred or so years from TOS, every 21 year old will go have their DNA and transporter patterns recorded so they can become practically immortal thanks to TNG's, "Unnatural Selection".

So, would there be any way to find out about a suit that Alec Peters supposedly brought against Jason DeBord in California in 2011/2012?

It appears to be a slander suit involving statements made by "The Original Prop Blog" about Alec and Propworx.

It's been described as a SLAPP suit that Alec lost.

I found this: https://www.docketalarm.com/cases/C...045265/Propworx_Inc._et_al._v._Debord_et_al./

Some Original Prop Blog posts about Alec and Propworx - interesting stuff:

They will also carry around nifty little injections that both inoculates you against radiation, and instantly cures any radiation damage you've already suffered. Now that sounds familiar...

Also, just worked out how to quote posts whilst using the iPad! I'm stupidly proud of myself

Just more of the same, really. Rob Burnett made a vaguebook post on Instagram that Peters then tried to clarify to the Axanar Fan Group on FB, then backpedaled less than a day later, giving everyone douchebumps all over again.

That's about it.

So. . . What's the goss then. . anyone managed to keep a post that depicts the not so rose tinted view of Mr Peters and his endeavours past and present from being deleted.

I posted a honest question on the axanar page for myself to be banned from posting and my post deleted and I waste even being nasty just asked a civil honest question.
