Since Roddenberry and Lucas have literally zero to do with either franchise now, why do we care what they think?

I have it on good authority that Gene's alive and well. Being kept alive be Borg enhancements and is secretly building a resistance force on the moon to film the ultimate, mega, super-duper REAL Star Trek movie.

My Enterprise pizza-cutter told me so.

Someone want to ... This?

Total nonsense. Whatever Gene agreed doesn't change copyright law.

The more I read about Axanar Coffee, model kits, props, Ares Studios........I'm thinking maybe CBS/Paramount would have left them alone had they just MADE THE DAMN MOVIE instead of branching out planning coffee table books. They lost sight of what their mission was........any thoughts?

See, back in the day, a donation was like "Hey, send us five bucks so we can keep the lights on and make this thing." Or "Hey, help feed the cast and crew so we can make this thing. We'll put your name in the credits."

I mentioned this a few pages back, I seem to recall one production that just wanted Lowes or Home Depot giftcards to pay for the lumber. Like you said, some just wanted a few bucks to help with the lights or the food bill. No one was trying to make a buck, indeed the opposite was true.

That was New Voyages.

Had Peters and the others not let ego get in the way and just made the movie they'd very would have been left alone. To use a phrase, they got "uppity" and CBS has decided to curb stomp then as an example to everyone else. Make no mistake, this isn't just about shutting down Axanar; they want to annihilate Axanar, then hang the corpse from a bridge as a warning to every other fan-production that gets ideals above their station.

And Axanar has no one to blame but themselves. They got bold, they got braze, and they got stupid.

You know I've heard Continues mentioned a lot in Alec Peters remarks in a negative light. I know something went on between him and Vic, but you know what I've noticed?

The STC people have never once returned the favor of bad mouthing him. I've never seen them do anything but act with respect.

It really says something about the man that every single thing said against him, from the lowest criticism or constructive remark, to anything inflammatory is meant with an equal level of self victimization and insulting remarks of his own. What is wrong with you dude? You're not winning anyone over to your side by attacking everyone.

That was New Voyages.

Indeed. New Voyages, Frontier, Intrepid, Aurora, Tales of the 7th Fleet, Exeter. They have always kept it where it should be in terms of money. None.

And Axanar has no one to blame but themselves. They got bold, they got braze, and they got stupid.

See, and this is why I disagree with anyone who says this was about CBS not liking the "professional look" of Axanar. I think if anything about the look bothered CBS it would be the aping of the JJ stuff, which they said fans should stay away from, but I really don't think they care how "professional looking" the productions are as long as said productions make it clear they are non-profit fan ventures done out of, and this is most important, love.

No, no. 47. This is Trek. 47, man!

I was trying to avoid going after his inactivity being the whole skeleton thing but thanks for not catching that.

I meant they may have started these franchises but they have fuck all to do with them on account of being very D/ead/ouchbag (tick off as applicable) so why bring them into it?

CBS own Star Trek. Peter's lied his ass own and profited from it. They're going to publically take him apart and have every right to do so.

Axanad lol----Nice

Axanerd...

The gall of these folks is unmatched...

Let's put more bad blood between "Us" and "Them"

Going after fellow fans no less...

At this point we need to roll our eyes...

Cultish idiocy, like what we're seeing with the Axanar faithful, is one of the reasons that I pulled back from fandom and stop labeling myself as a Trekkie/Trekker. A few bad apples and all that.

These are our ambassadors.
