"Defendents lack of knowledge...we deny the allegations."Sorry, got delayed... Here you go... Linky.
I expect the plaintiffs to call for an accounting by a forensic accountant. Where's the #AxaMoney ?
- Erin R. RanahanNevertheless, despite these public comments, the present action remains pending, and Defendants are currently left with uncertainty as to how Axanar may proceed with its film to fulfill the wishes of thousands of fans who have contributed.

For over 900 pages, we have been watching this exact sort of thing unfolding. It is cringe-inducing. It does defy common sense.I am dumbfounded. ...
It's cringe inducing.
My apologies for pushing my prediction so hard that AP would exercise common sense. I was so wrong about this...
I am dumbfounded. Only a complete idiot would warp/exploit Lin/JJ's support in this manner.
For me, here's the most interesting line in the new document. It's the last sentence of paragraph 31 on page 25: "Instead, Defendants have created an original story inspired by Star Trek, as Gene Roddenberry hoped fans would continue to do."
Others will know better than I do, but is there even an iota of truth to that claim? Roddenberry would support Peters? Maybe even throw a few bucks into his Kickstarter campaign? Really? Really?
Yeah. You gotta keep fighting the war even as peace talks commence.I tend to think that they still have to prep like they are going to trial without a settlement in hand. It doesn't look good, but I can see the logic.
So, I've started to read this reply and it sounds, at least as far as I've read, that they're using the "I'm a dumb f"Defendents lack of knowledge...we deny the allegations."
I knowingly ignored what I knew so I can deny any allegations against me.
At least thats what it sounds like to me.
I recall people saying Alec defended bidding in his own auctions by claiming it was a blind process conducted by someone else on his behalf. Criticism of this I think was that he would be paying the buyer's premium in effect to himself, thus able to bid more, and that the potential for shill bidding was created anyway. I believe these comments have been posted here in this thread some time ago.
But this discussion really goes beyond his justifications. I wonder if further info will emerge about the D7 now that this is posted in the current discussions.
