CBS - More Shows Axed and Saved

The few episodes I've seen of it have actually been fairly funny, unusual for a comedy series these days. I'm glad to hear it's still around

Check out season 2 on DVD. They were really firing on all cylinders. Season 3 was a bit uneven, IMHO.

I agree, although I still don't think Ted and Robin have ANY chemistry together and generally like the show better when they're not coupled up (the first and third seasons).

No news about Big Bang Theory? I just started watching that, and it's surprisingly okay.

Shark and The Unit had similar ratings but it seems that along with the slightly better demo, the major reason for the pickup was that the CBS execs were very impressed with the season 4 ideas, Ryan Scott pitched.

But it doesn't fit the demo. They'll have to recast the show entirely with spoiled rich girls and retitle it Vampire Prep School!

ugh Ill hate it if they do something lame like give Beth a snotty teenage assistant!
However i also read that CW airs the not so horrible Supernatural so this could be a good fit for it...

I am pretty sure that Big Bang Theory was already renewed awhile ago.

I think HIMYM's Achilles Heel is Ted. He's just so frakking bland. Probably why I liked S2 the best, because it was more focused on Marshall and Lily.

^ TBBT was one of the first shows to be picked up by CBS earlier in the year and I say thank god because otherwise I think it would of been cancelled.

Heh, I feel the same way about Robin, who's the only completely expendable character on the show IMO.

Her "Robin Sparkles" alter-ego combined with that slightly sinister aspect to her character saves her for me. I could envision Robin and Barney having an exchange very similar to a certain bit of dialogue from "Raiders":

Barney: You and I are very much alike. Serial dating is our religion, yet we have both fallen from the pure faith. Our methods have not differed as much as you pretend. I am but a shadowy reflection of you. It would take only a nudge to make you like me. To push you out of the light.
Robin: Now you're getting nasty.

If CBS kills one of its comedies next season it'll be either TBBT or Rules of Engagement, but given TBBT's performance since the switch in timeslot with HIMYM, I'd put money on that one biting the bullet.

Re: The Unit, great news, last season was very good, and as sad as I am that Shark hasn't made the cut, The Unit, is a better show IMO.

Re: Moonlight, bad luck Moonlight fans. Not my favourite show by any stretch but decent enough.

Too bad about Shark. It was a fun show to watch.

As for Moonlight, I know it has it's fans, and I hope it continues elsewhere.

Not really into sitcoms, but HIMYM and BBT does have followings, so good for them.

Just as long as they keep away from the CSIs, greenlight more of The Price is Right Million Dollar Spectaculars, and keep Million Dollar Password around, I'll keep watching the network.
