CBS has finally cut the $#*!

Sources confirm to TVLine that the Eye network has canceled William Shatner’s critically panned freshman sitcom $#*! My Dad Says.

Also axed after one season: The Defenders and Mad Love.

No word yet on the fates of remaining CBS bubble shows CSI: NY and Criminal Minds: Suspect Behavior.

Too bad. I know that there are some people here that watched $#*! My Dad Say just for Shatner.

Well ****! No surprise there I guess, but damn I liked the Defenders, easily my favorite show of the 2010-11 season. Will miss the Shat too.

CBS can suck it. :klingon:

The only surprising thing here is that a piece of crap show like Shit My Dad Says was even managing the ratings that it was.

Well I guess kudos to the producers of The Defenders, they pretty much wrapped up the show and sent it out on a positive note, as opposed to Shat which left us on a cliffhanger.

$#*! My Dad Says doesn't even belong with the other two, especially Mad Love. That shows rating and demo were horrid. $@*! looks like a winning show with 10+m viewers and a demo avg of around 2.8 or 2.9

CBS and their crazy high standards. Thanks for that CSI.

Yeah it kind of sucks to be a new show on CBS, you better hit a home run right off the bat and never ever drop off ANY viewers or it's hatchet time.

I think about the last ratings that Jax posted for Happy Endings and how it supposedly is renewed, but yet Shat, with MUCH MUCH better ratings gotted axed. Because "OMG, it doesn't get eleventy-billion viewers like NCIS!"

So F you CBS, I'll be damned if I ever watch any new shows on your network ever again. (Not that Fox is any better.)

Shit my dad says had a clone called "Retired at 35" which made Shit my dad says look like Cheers in the 80s.

Retired at 35 has been awarded a second season.

Good. All those shows (especially Shit My Dad Says) were fucking awful. The only bad news is that now Sarah Chalke is out of work. And she should always be on TV.

The only show on that list I watched was Shit My Dad Says, which I watched for Shatner. I laughed once per episode. I gave up after like four. On the bright side, I now watch Big Bang Theory because of Shatner's awful show (They were back to back). Thanks, Bill. BBT isn't a bad show.

I never watched any of those shows, but it's kind of funny that CBS doesn't seem to like giving their new shows much of a chance to grow anymore. Their biggest show, NCIS, started out as a modest hit and didn't become the huge monster that it is now until several seasons into its run.

And for me at least, it's become kind of self fullfilling prophecy. I know they won't give a new show a chance, so there's no motivation to watch a new show. I don't know if other viewers feel this way or not, but it seemed nearly all of the new shows on all of the networks suffered in the ratings this season as most of them got cancelled. Seems like that takes away the motivation to try new shows.

I'm a bit surprised they cancelled Mad Love because their current "30-something friends" sitcom, How I Met Your Mother has more days behind it than in front of it. Coupled with the rather iffy Two and a Half Men situation, that's two potential sitcom voids for the Eye.

Pie Fucker has more doughnuts behind him than in front of him.

It's really weird but over the last couple years he seems to have acquired Batman Animated's chin.

Mad Love is more How I met Your Mother.

Which is a good thing?

Shit My Dad Says was all Shatner.

The rest of the characters had no definition to them, especially the brother and the wife. It's sad that the writers of that show didn't give the show some other substance beside Shatner one liners.

I caught an episode of Defenders - easily the worst show I have been subjected to this season.

Despite low ratings CBS picked up RoE for a full season pickup meaning its likely to partner TBBT throughout the season. I was expecting a short pick up but a full  well I guess they wanted a comfy package to sell on after it ends, which will be season 6 if the ratings of season 5 are any indication...

The show is set to end on 94 episodes assuming CBS means 22 episodes and not a 24 pickup like last season.

Pity My Dad Wasn't 3/4 seasons into its run because its higher, low ratings (talk about an oxymoron) than ROE would of meant a pickup probably.

Shatner was finding his groove in the show (as was his actual romantic foil), but that was pretty much it. The original premise was dropped by, like, episode 4. The 'sitcom standards' brother and wife were so recycled that even Al Gore would be embarassed.

A pity, a retool could have saved the show, but the writing staff was just not up to the job.

Well, maybe this will give Shatner an excuse to be in Trek XII.
