News CBS building their own studio for Star Trek

Don't you mean "closer to the airports"? It's further from the Island airport, sure, but who flies into there from LA? It's certainly closer to Pearson than Pinewood, and also Hamilton and Buffalo.

If it's in WEST Miss as suggested above, is it not further from Pearson than it would be if it were downtown?

But with the subsequent post, 1850 Matheson is actually REALLY close to the 06 end of the SE runways of YYZ. At that distance, it had better be soundproofed else all the productions there will be replete with "planes passing overhead" bloopers at their wrap parties. :P

I'm sure they'll be putting in lots of soundproofing, if it doesn't have any already. Also next door to Kellogg's Canada.

I'm accounting for traffic. Going across the 401, 407, or even some surface street if needed, would be preferable to sitting on the 427 and QEW in rush hour.

Anyway, as you have noted, the problem is solved!

They must have a lot of confidence in Discovery and the Picard show, plus whatever other projects they haven't announced yet. Hopefully this means that in the near future we'll get to see more of the Discovery since this will give them some room to expand and build new sets.

It's probably a good investment regardless. As production costs rise in Hollywood, Canada becomes more and more attractive.

The headline seems very misleading considering there is no confirmation any Star Trek projects will be filmed there.

As far as noise from the airport, it's worth noting modern airplanes are much quieter, and with good soundproofing there shouldn't be a problem.
