Interesting. Up until now, it seemed as if everyone but CBS could get their hands on Star Trek movies (after '06, the CBS-owned Showtime could only get a few through a third party vendor, IIRC).

It is interesting, but I get every movie via my DVDs, my digital library, my Netflix sub, and my Amazon prime subscription. I hope CBS doesn't think that will be enough for most Trek fans. Most of us have the movies by now.

How dare they make such an obvious attempt to market their streaming service further to people who might be interested in Star Trek??? HOW DARE THEY!?!?!??!?!!!!!!!

If they were smart they would start going after shows that in theory would apeal to a Trek fan like Stargate,Farscape and Babylon 5. Also as a network shouldn't almost all there new shows start to apeal to this audience? Isn't it time for them to be a network that is no longer seen as the "old people" channel were they make shows for people who understand cable,HBO etc has changed the tv landscape?

CBS All Access isn't really a network, just a streaming service where people can watch CBS or CBS-owned properties. The only reason why Trek films are there is probably because they are related to the Star Trek television shows already there.

In the future all networks are just going to be like Netflix or Hulu? They will be filled with all the shows they create and maybe even some they aquire and people will be able to access them, any time they want, once they sign up. I don't even think there will be channels in the future. Just a bunch of network packages to choose from.

In such a scenario, we'll likely see every outlet feature exclusive shows that you can only get at their site. If you want to see this show, you have to sign up at this site--if you want to see that show, you have to sign up at that site and so on...

Rock and roll. This gives me another reason (besides streaming Patriots games) to subscribe to the CBS app. Plus the new series is on there as well, correct? Cha-ching!
