CBR Comic Files On Ipad Mini 2 (Retina)

I was just gifted an ipad mini (version 2.0 with the Retina display)...would love to read all the comic books I have been accumulating on my computer on it. Anyone have insight on the best way to take the .cbr files and get them on the mini to view in the best resolution?

Great resource link, thanks! My main need is to import the cbr files (or convert them or whatever) that I already have, as opposed to being limited to whatever store the app attaches to.

You should be able to add the files to your iTunes library then upload them to the iPad. That's how I get my PDF comic files onto my iPad.

I use Comic Zeal. It is not connected to or proprietary to a given store, which suits my needs. CBR and CBZ files are merely RAR and Zip archives with a renamed extension. Comic Zeal will accept a folder of sequentially numbered image files, as well. (No need to archive.)

Most ebook formats do not support images all that well. (Size limitations.) So I use Comic Zeal to fill that gap. I've digitally archived some of my print books, such as old Starlog PhotoGuide Books that were starting to show signs of yellowing. There are also archives on-line where one can download old STARLOG magazines and articles — but I imagine you have your own sources.
