When my sister got two more kittens, and wanted my parents to look after them,, she tried to have them over at my moms place. With the evil overlord of cats.
That did not go well. The kittens wanted to play, and the old one wanted them DEAD. We are talking trying to chew your way under the doorframe to get to the kittens-anger.
So evil cat stayed with mom, and the kittiecats got to have another babysitter. Me.
And that is how it has had to stay. We just took care of the kittiecats for a few weeks this spring, and next spring it is time again

Having had many cats in many combinations, I can say that it's very hard to introduce a new cat when an older cat is present. It seems to be easier to introduce a newbie when there are already two or more. One thing to remember when introducing a new cat is to lavish attention on the older cat, so it doesn't think it's being replaced.

The owner must be so relieved! My cat got out a couple of times when he was young and it was awful. Well done taking the kitten in and keeping it safe.
It was just too cute to leave there by itself!

Eh, I usually don't go to bed until about 4am anyway. My cat usually tries to wake me up around noon.
