Things go missing around nearby houses. Finally the police decide to catch the theif doing the dirty deed. And so they did...

KLEPTO KITTY (video)

Now if only we could teach the cat to fetch things worth a toot.

I've had cats that took items around the house, but mostly socks or string. I've never heard of a cat doing this.

So, will Toonces be the getaway driver?

;) I had a cat who stole my pens, bookmarks and books. I have a Trek book covered in kitty teethmarks. I keep it to remember my spunky old girl :)

My friends had a cat like this back in the day. They thought it was annoying - I pointed out that it could easily be worse.

For instance, my mother's cat used to drag home at least one dead thing every day, for 15 years, depositing it on the front stoop just in time for me to get home from school and clean the damn thing up. The worst was the whole litter of baby possums, consecutive days for a week, which I dutifully cleaned up. When she finally brought the mother possum home, I went on strike.

That cat hated me. :vulcan:

I read somewhere once about a case in Brazil where a group of bus drivers were "training" beetles to crawl inside the locked money-boxes (or whatever they're called) and bring out the coins. I really wish I'd investigated sources to see if it was genuine - as it is, I can only offer "I read it once".

I recall a pleasing line from the news report, something like "the beetles were also arrested"...

Taht reminds me of a midget that would hide in the cargo compartments of buses and steal things.

I wonder if you can teach a cat to fetch the newspaper (that is, before newspapers become extinct)

Nasat, not to mention The BEATLES being arrested my mistake... (bad joke, I know it)

nevermore, at least the cat didn't put them in bed. Mine has that habit. This morning I found a shrew next to my head on the pillow... eww....

Nah, she hated me. Wouldn't even let me near her. Probably because I kept throwing out all the lovely presents she brought home for my mother. ;)
