Castle and Beckett investigate the murder of a plastic surgeon. Meanwhile, Alexis has her first prom and Castle snoops around Beckett's past and it's up for a surprise.

Yeah it's a good little show. I read it has a somewhat decent chance of being picked up.

"Not the severed head."

I've enjoyed the show. Watched at first for Fillion, stayed for the fun and the banter and the family love.

Daughter does look sweet in the prom dress.

Nice double-entendre title. A death in "the family," i.e. the mob, and the subplot of the death of Beckett's mother.

Yayy, Robert Picardo! The man keeps busy these days.

The preview for this episode was totally misleading -- they cut it together to make it sound like Castle was the one who'd been shot. But I guess it's good that it was misleading, since it meant I didn't know what was coming.

Well if this show does come back it looks like they've come up with a way to keep Castle with the cops.

Season one -- the whole book/shadowing thing.
Season two -- solving the murder of Beckett's mother.
Season three -- solving the murder of one of their own? They've got four cops not named Beckett who have done nothing in terms of character development.

Four? There are only three cop characters other than Beckett. Are you counting the medical examiner? Dammit, Jim, she's a doctor, not a cop! ;)

Wait? Are there only ten episodes this year? I thought US series tend to do at least thirteen?

Hey! If the medical examiner were on CSI, she'd be leading the raids AND interrogating the suspects!!! :p

Midseason replacements tend to be shorter in their initial seasons. Some run as short as seven episodes. In fact, I'm surprised to realize this show's been on for ten weeks. I didn't think it had been that long.

Man, that sucks - I was enjoying this every week - and pleased that it was going to be around after all the other shows I watch end for the summer. Oh well, I hope it gets renewed, Fillion really deserves to catch a break, and this series is WAY better than the premise would suggest.

Whoever the actress is that plays the daughter, she is beautiful.

This was a neat episode, looks like a storyline is developing that I'd like to see explored. I hope Castle gets renewed, I want more.

My wife was waiting for Castle to get shot, based on the promo as well.

Another good episode. Hope it gets renewed.

Molly C. Quinn plays Alexis.
Charming and beautiful, in a few years she is going to be smoking hot. Hopefully the show runs long enough for us to witness her transformation into a woman. Her relationship with Rick is some of my favorite material on the show and I totally buy their bond as genuine.

Come on!!! Renewal.

If this ever gets renewed would this be the first ever series for Nathan to make it past S1? Minus his soaps of course.
