And he still looks the part more than Baby Routh. See http://www.gerardchristopher.com/bio.html
I'd take either of the guys who played Superboy in the 1980s over Routh.
Why? Both of those guys have to be in their 40s by now.
^So he started playing Superboy around 30? Shades of Tom Welling...
With rumors of Brandon Routh being given a chance test for this film... *bump*
Routh is a terrible actor. Nolan should choose John Hamm, if age doesn't matter, and if he does need a young'un, Matthew Bomer would be the acceptable second choice.
I don't see it happening...nothing against Bomer or Hamm.
JacksonArcher's thread...
Christopher Nolan will give Brandon Routh a screentest
Routh's as good as any actor who's played Superman and better than a number of them.
Yeah, I know he's done a lot of movies since "Superman Returns", but the only one I saw was "Zack and Miri", and he was in that one for like 5 minutes.
I'd rather see someone with some actual meat on their body, closer to Alex Ross's take. No more scrawny beanpoles, please.

All you need to look like Alex Ross' Superman is a barrel chest and the ability to constantly look at everyone with his head tilted way back, staring down his nose at them. Apparently Ross thinks these are the key elements to making someone look powerful.
