Routh just didn't look or sound like Superman to me. His face is better suited to, say, Sherlock Holmes or Spock. He just looks out of place in the tights and cape. And his voice is just too nasal.

Thank you! Not enough people realize that an actor's voice is as important as any other item in his toolbox. Routh's Superman sounded too "Clark" to me.

Routh is too stiff. Contrary to popular opinion, the last thing you want w/Spock is a stiff actor.
