Cast your Favorite Lit SF/Fantasy

Mysterion

Vice Admiral
Admiral
You've just been named producer of a big-scrren project to adapt your favorite Lit SF/Fantasy (novel, short story, comic/graphic novel). You can now cast anyone you want in the roles. Money is no object.

Here's my casting for David Gerrold's Star Wolf books (Voyage of the Star Wolf, The Middle of Nowhere, Blood and Fire):

Bach: Gina Torres
Brik: Michael Clark Duncan
Captain Hardesty: Michael Ironside
Captain Lowell: James Earl Jones (or maybe Brian Dennehy)
Chief Hall: William H. Macy
Hodel: Jack Black
Cdr. Jon Korie: Aaron Eckhart
Leen: Louis Gossett Jr. (or Andre Braugher if you want a younger actor)
Stolchak: Kristen Johnston
Tor: Emma Thompson
Voice of HARLIE: David Hyde Pierce

Show us yours!

My adaption of the Venue Prime books by Paul Preuss and Arthur C. Clarke:

Linda Nagy/Ellen Troy/Sparta-Julia Stiles
Blake Redfield-John Cho
The Commander, aka Kip-Bill Pullman
Professor J.Q.R. Forester-Patrick Stewart
Jozef Nagy-Walter Koneig
Ms. Nagy-Meryl Streep
Josepha Walsh-Queen Latifah
Laird/Mays/-Gary Oldman

Dunno about the rest of the cast, but only Mako could have played Nakor in any Raymond Feist adaptation...

In the Honor Harrington series, I've always pictured Baron High Ridge as being played by John Hurt. Nobody can do "sneering English aristocrat" like him. Gabrielle Union would make a good Mike Henke...

Those two would work real well.

Little Fuzzy by H Beam Piper

Jack Holloway-Donald Sutherland
Ben Rainsford-Richard Dreyfuss
Gus Brannard-John Goodman
Gerd VanRiebeck-Tim Daly
Gerd's fiance-Gina Gershon
Victor Grego-Tommy Lee Jones
Leslie Coombs-James Spader
Little Fuzzy- Industrial Light&Magic

To cast A Song of Ice and Fire, I'd need first to get out the appendices in the back of each book and make a list of all the characters, then spend the next several weeks on IMDB.

Too many kids anyways, I don't know any good kid actors these days.

As a forum, we're currently debating it on westeros.org for the upcoming HBO series though.

The Sirens of Titan
Based on the Novel by Kurt Vonnegut
Adapted and Directed by Terry Gilliam
Starring:
Malachi Constant...Robert Downey, Jr.
Winston Niles Rumfoord...Josh Brolin
Beatrice Rumfoord...Gillian Anderson
Salo (voice)...Douglas Rain
Boaz...Richard Gant
Chrono...Eddie Alderson
Fern...Anthony Hopkins
Stony...Paul Giamatti

I'd also love to see Clint Eastwood adapt Ward Moore's Bring the Jubilee with someone like Jared Padalecki as Hodge Backmaker.

For some reason, whenever I read those books I picture Yancy Butler as Honor Harrington.
