Cast each other's fanfic characters?

I think that Mclellan and Monaco are inspired choices! Mclellan definitely has the hair and "look" for Delta.

I fell in love with her watching about a hundred hours of JAG.

Monaco is just, well . . . ;)

Oh yesssssssss... :D

As to Benrubi, let's just say he needs to go on an intense physical training regimen.

Exactly, after which he'd be just as big with lots o' muscles! A brilliant plan!

Dylan Neal for your Pike? Yeah, I can definitely see that. (Still, Kiefer Sutherland would be a hoot! )

Yeah, I know:

Kiefer/Pike: Time Warp Factor Seven! GIVE ME TIME WARP FACTOR SEVEN NOW!!!!

But Spock wouldn't get any screaming in edgewise. :D

And come on, people! Is TLR the only one of you brave enough to try and cast Star Trek: My Way his way? You're missing a golden opportunity that, believe me, you'll never get again!

I'm wondering, can anyone think of any good actors to play the following characters?

Lt. Cdr. Makis Spirodopoulos
(Ideally should be Greek in descent, but as long as he seems Mediterranean, that ought to work.)

Ensign Folani Jederia (Very no-nonsense, should project a "kick-butt" vibe.)

Glinn Zebreliy Va'Kust
(Though this pic shows him in one of his "Vulcan-like" moments, whoever plays Va'Kust should also be able to project a good--though low-key--sense of fun when required. Va'Kust is a pretty big guy...a football player might be an appropriate choice...)

Gul Zejil Rebek (She's about 5'3", 5'4"...)

Rufus Sewell (I think that is is name...star of the movie DARK CITY)

Rhona Mitra. (I am using her to play CAPT MICHELLE DUELL, but she could fit here too)

Vin Desel for your Vulcan...a reach I know...but thats my mental picture of your 'big' vulcan.

Rob
scorpio

Va'Kust is Cardassian--just at times, has the temperament of a Vulcan. ;) Vin Diesel might be a possibility, but I dunno.

Rhona Mitra...could work, though I think Rebek has a slightly "rounder" face.

Rufus Sewell...interesting, some of those pics do have the right expression, though I think sometimes the effects of the war show a bit more on Spirodopoulos. Yet the more I look, the more I think that could work.

But overall, very interesting choices--I look forward to seeing if anybody else has ideas as well!

I'm going mainly by what I see in the pictures:

Spirodopolous - Tony Shaloub (Yes, "Mr. Monk and the Cardassian Rebels", but that's who I see.)

Folani - Nia Long

Va'Kust - Roger Curtis (Mentioned for another character, but I think he'd fit here)

Rebek - Nana Visitor (Someone go find her and see if she'll do some Trek in Cardie make-up)

Even though Shalhoub wouldn't necessarily have been my choice (in part because he's so well known as Monk--not to mention that Men In Black role I can't get out of my head)--I can see why you picked him. He's definitely fits the general criteria.

Nia Long--I can see where you get it, especially around the eyes. But I think maybe Folani's a little less supermodel-like and a bit more soldier-like.

Roger Curtis--Got a link? There are too many Roger Curtises when I go on Google Images...

Nana Visitor--Good luck getting her to wear that makeup! She supposedly lost it on the set during "Second Skin" thanks to a claustrophobia attack brought on by the makeup.

Roger Curtis:

As for Nana, i didn't know. It's too bad, cause she's one of my favorites.

Oooh, very interesting selection there, in Roger Curtis. He definitely looks like he can do the serious side of Va'Kust...that expression is just about perfect!

What has he been in?

I know him mainly from 24, but I also remember seeing him in that Nostradamus alien invasion show, that I think was called First Wave.

I don't usually foray into casting others' characters(I have enough trouble casting some of my own), but Stephen Moyer (HBO's True Blood) would make a good Pava Lar'ragos, I think.

Also, this guy, Ricco Ross, who appeared as an Earth Alliance captain in B5(as can be seen in the pic) looks about the way I'd envisioned Terrence Glover. Roger Curtis would also make a good Glover, I think.

For those familiar with any of my work(been a while since I posted any of it) I cast Sean Bean as my main character, Captain Kieran Forester. Jeremy Irons and Kiefer Sutherland also recieved consideration at various points, but Irons is too old, and Sutherland lost out simply because I'd thought of Bean as Kieran for so long at that point that no other actor seemed quite right for the part. ;)

Wow, great suggestion! Sadly, I gave up my HBO subscription just before Trueblood and Generation Kill came out... which saddens me greatly. However, I did catch an episode of Trueblood while staying at a hotel recently. Stephen Moyer does a fantastic suave-creepy look that I have to admit is very Lar'ragos.

The eyes, man... it's all in the eyes.

Good choice with Sean Bean. He's been a favorite of mine since the early 90's, when I first ran across him in the Richard Sharpe movies. In fact, in one story, I've got Lar'ragos singing a few lines of Over the Hills and Far Away. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-Fy3tSim3to

Got another character cast--this one from Gibraltar.

For some reason, Donald Sandhurst looks a lot like Trace Gallagher, in my head...

Interesting choice! :D

Cool...does he look anything like you envision him, at all?

Ahhh, OK.

BTW, I just did some looking--looks like his name is actually Roger Cross, and that's why I was having so much trouble finding him.

Honestly, it's just SPOOKY how much he looks like he could be Va'Kust. The drawing almost looks like it was done with a pic of Cross as a reference!

Well, the past couple of years I've had Clive Owen on the brain when it comes to Sandhurst, so I'd have to say no. A bit too old and his features are broader than I'd like. Gallagher is, however, nearly a dead ringer for who I imagine when I picture Sandhurst's former CO, Captain Lucian Ebnal.

Ahh, I see...I think why I picture Trace Gallagher is especially post-torture, the lighter hair and the way it did kinda age him.

But glad I could provide you with a lookalike for SOMEBODY... ;)

BTW! On my own characters--I think I figured out why none of the people I ever look up for Rebek ever seem to work out.

It may be I need someone familiar with Bollywood, or with Indian actresses, to figure her out. The more I think on it, the more it seems her facial structure evokes India. Heck, even the drawing of her looks an awful lot like an Indian idol, in some weird way...
