First, I'm not sure how to post a poll, especially because I'm mobile.
Second, if there is already a thread on this, my apologies. I didn't see one.
So, jury selection is now complete for the young mother accused of killing her toddler, and the trial starts tomorrow. Some call the evidence against her circumstantial, and technically, it may be, but I've rarely seen more damning evidence in a trial in my life for a trial. Wow. Still, the burden of the case is in the hands of the prosecution. I hope that the police-work and evidence gatheringg from the start was handled well, because otherwise they will have a hard time getting a conviction that public might see as a proverbial slam-dunk.
So what do you think will happen... will this woman be sentenced to death, life imprisonment, or you think the prosecutors will screw up? From my wording, you can probably tell that I seriously doubt she is actually innocent but I am glad that our system makes the burden of proof for guilt very very high. She could go free when all is said and done.
Thoughts?
