They are just parroting Parrot Analytics. Though it is mind boggling that The 100 is the most popular sci-fi show in the world...
Which is why I don't know how much faith I have in Parrot Analytics.
Have you watched The 100. Its pretty good, IMO.

According to Parrot Analytics, this is the 2nd most read post on the internet.Just not a show that I see discussed very often, pretty much anywhere. Which seems to be a big part of Parrot Analytics analysis.

Yeah, give folks a statistic that they either really like or that makes them really mad and most don't look very closely at how accurate it is or what the source is.
Yup. Statistics and assumptions are funny that way. They want to believe. Just like a lot of the people supporting Abdin.
Something something lies and damn lies.Yeah, give folks a statistic that they either really like or that makes them really mad and most don't look very closely at how accurate it is or what the source is.
Careful, Abdin might join you in his lawsuit. So, tardigrades. They're cute.

Axanar
hiring people who clearly have little to no knowledge/respect for the universe?
That is how it was pitched, and that's the problem. It's the same as the narrative around this lawsuit, that CBS couldn't come up with original ideas and is mishandling the Star Trek brand. It's impressive how Axanar has endured as the Great Lost Cause in the minds of fans who don't like the state of the official franchise. The persistence of this myth concerning that monumental grift threatens to put the bards of ancient Greece to shame.
It's extra sad that they're just mad that CBS is catering to their exact tastes in Star Trek. That is how it was pitched, and that's the problem. It's the same as the narrative around this lawsuit, that CBS couldn't come up with original ideas and is mishandling the Star Trek brand.
Neither is accurate, but let's not let facts interfere with railing against CBS and their evilness.

The Axanar script is out there. Enjoy it. I hear he's still asking for money.

I think it's because "Prelude to Axanar" - quite honestly - looked awesome. They did something even the most professional directors in Hollywood struggle with - a modern take on the TOS era that just works. Their USS Ares is frankly one of the best fan designs out there, and makes the TOS aesthetic work and faithfully but still look modern.
Exactly so. Fan productions and trailers and the like have all demonstrated that the themes and stories they want are darker, edgier, less utopian, than prior Star Treks. Looking at more war stories, more action and more direct threats to the Federation. And yet, the moment they do it is the moment that they get taken to task over it.It's extra sad that they're just mad that CBS is catering to their exact tastes in Star Trek.
I already see a lot of people assuming Picard is going to be bad when we don't even know what the name of the show is going to be yet.
Your logic is... peculiar. So supposedly DSC is such a massive failure, that the only answer is tons more Trek? Everything indicates the exact opposite, but keep up that creative thinking. There's legitimate reasons to believe that Picard will be bad considering the team behind it. If Kurtzman had stepped aside and delegated more creative control to an independent team it would be a different story. But as it is now, Picard (and really all spinoffs) feel like career lifeboat projects to get away from the wreckage of Discovery and hope that some new concept gains greater traction.
