CARS spinoff "PLANES" in theaters on 8/9/2013

having re-watched the trailer, I just cant see it as a cinema movie, unless this is the worst trailer ever for a really good movie.

I have to say I'm even less keen about this than before now that it's going to be a theatrical release. Cars was great fun but Cars 2 wasn't even a little bit of fun. I can't say this has me excited at all. :-\

Just wait for the cheap direct to DVD sequels of Avengers or Star Wars. They WILL come.

Which, along with its sequel was actually a theatrical release in a lot of countries other than the US. And weren't they on tv in the US?

Somewhere in the Cars/Planes 'verse is a thrilling and mind-blowing story about the rise of machine intelligence and the fall of the organic life-forms that originally gave birth to the living machines.

I seriously doubt we will ever see such a film released by Disney.

Probably so. I would imagine they'd rather skip the hassle of a lawsuit from Harlan Ellison. ;)

That looks cute! I hope it turns out to be very good. I will, of course, give it a chance, as I love Pixar and still consider them to be the gold standard.
 
^Not Pixar. It's DisneyToon Studios. Regardless, Lasseter is still one of the producers.

Ah, okay. Well, I just hope it will be good. Even though it's not Pixar, John Lasseter is still attached to it, and I love that guy.
