"Caretaker" Line-by-Line

Line-by-Line players, At ease, before you sprain something.

We've recently finished our "The Defector" Line-by-Line over in the TNG Forum!

After each completed thread, I'm randomly picking someone who participated to choose the next episode we do. The lucky winner this time around was JanewayRulz! And JanewayRulz! selected "Caretaker" as out next challenge!

For any unfamiliar with our "game," you are asked to post only a single line (defined as one character speaking without interruption by another character) per message. You can post as often as you like, but someone else must post a line in between your posts.

As before, at the conclusion of this thread, I or the Maquis Assistant, CoveTom () will pick someone at random from among all the participants to choose the next episode we do.


Now, lets see what's waiting for us in the Badlands...

Unhappy with a new treaty, Federation Colonists along the Cardassian Border have banded together. Calling themselves, 'The Maquis,' they continue to fight the Cardassians. Some consider them heroes, but to the governments of the Federation and Cardassia, they are outlaws.

A Galor Class Cardassian Warship battles a small Maquis raider.

CHAKOTAY: Damage report.

TUVOK: Shields at sixty percent.

 

[JanewayRulz!]

TORRES: (human-Klingon woman) A fuel line has ruptured. Attempting to compensate. Damn it! We're barely maintaining impulse. I can't get any more out of it.

Chakotay: Be creative!

TORRES: How am I supposed to be creative with a thirty nine year old rebuilt engine?

GUL EVEK: Maquis ship, this is Gul Evek of the Cardassian Fourth Order. Cut your engines and prepare to surrender or we will dest--

(Chakotay cuts the transmission.)

CHAKOTAY: Initiating evasive pattern omega. Mark.

 

[Enterprise1981]

TUVOK: Shields at fifty percent.

 

[BlueStuff]

CHAKOTAY: I need more power if we're going to make it to the Badlands.

 

[Enterprise1981]

TORRES: Take the weapons offline. We'll transfer all power to the engines.

 

[JanewayRulz!]

TUVOK: Considering the circumstances, I question that proposal at this time.

 

[BlueStuff]

TORRES: What does it matter? We're not making a dent in their shields anyway! You wanted creative.

 

[JanewayRulz!]

CHAKOTAY: Tuvok, shut down all the phaser banks. If you can give me another thirty seconds at full impulse, I'll get us into the Badlands.

 

[BlueStuff]

TUVOK: Phasers offline.

 

[JanewayRulz!]

CHAKOTAY: Throw the last photons at them and then give me the power from the torpedo system.

 

[BlueStuff]

TUVOK: Acknowledged. Firing photons.
(Two torpedoes explode against the Cardassian ship.)
