Cardassians be alert!

If, as in my previous post, the wunderkind (female...Major Kira Nerys you've already accepted over 7/9), I ask you to wonder about the future of Star Trek.

Somebody has to come forward. Gene did his genes. No longer upskirt views and no longer Discovery.

Can a Star Trek based on the Bajoran culture work? Personally I find it impossible without Major Kira (Nana Visitor) or Lieutenant Ro (Michelle Forbes.)

I'd love to hear your thoughts.

Ummm...was she even a lieutenant? Or an ensign? Or a simple nobody? Yet Ro, one of the heartbreaking scenes in ST:PIC, is fine with sacrificing herself. Ouch. That was difficult.

I tend to look forward...

There needs to be a Star Trek: Maquis. With B'Ellana and Seska. Without Chakotay. Because he's an idiot.

Well.... would not that be a story?!

How Starfleet helped wipe the Maqui out! Just for a pact with the Cardassians.

Why should Ro or Nerys not be upset?

I could have seen Ro return in a Bajor-themed Trek episodes. She escapes the Maquis purge and returns to Bajor. After knocking about, she joins the Bajoran militia, who are a bit more understanding about her desire to fight the good fight against the Cardassians. After Bajor joins the Federation, certain members of the militia are folded into Starfleet, and Ro is a natural choice despite her rocky history. This gives Ro a path back into Starfleet that makes sense, and allows her presence in PIC.
