Cardassian Confidential

Ba-CARDI yum!

Cadet
Newbie
I think Cardassians are hot. I love their devious smirks, their inexplicably slicked-back hair, their tantalizing body ridges. In fact, I have heard that these ridges (especially on the necks of the females) are actually an erogenous zone. I myself look slightly like a Cardassian, possessing as I do a rather triangular neck thanks to the graces of a rare genetic disease.

But enough about me!

Let's talk about spoonheads.

Now it wouldn't take much convincing for me to hop in the sack with Gul Sexpot, but there's something I'd like to know before I am making wild reptilian love in the middle of the Mekar Wilderness.

Gee, I feel so bashful asking this, but, um...

Do Cardassian males have ridges on their...well, you know...Well, do they?

Because if they do that would be totally flippin' awesome and better than anything that Matel has ever designed!

Thanks, guys, for helping a lonely girl in need. :adore:

:cardie:

I'm gonna say no to the ridges... It just doesn't seem very practical :p And given what you see onscreen, their arms and hands don't have the ridges, so it looks to be a neck-and-above thing only to me.

Speaking of Cardassian women though - some of them have greenish-blue on their "spoon" and one of their neck ridges. Is that supposed to be part of their skin or is it Cardassian cosmetics?

According to the book Fearful Symmetry, part of relaunch, it was cosmetics.

But of course this is not canon, merely interesting.

Hmm interesting. I think the question really hinges, however, on what the purpose of the ridges is in the first place. If it's true that they exist only for spinal reinforcement, then it makes sense that they would be found exclusively in the shoulder and back area. However, some have also posited that the ridges are a form of external defense. Given the ongoing mystery of the inner sanctcum of the Cardassian female and what she might have developed to keep unwanted intruders out, I think it is still likely that the males are correspondingly equipped for high-level defense in this area.

The note about makeup is certainly interesting. Since finding a job is naught but a monkey dance, I hardly see how it could hurt my case to go to my interview today wearing an oval of blue eyeshadow on my forehead. Thanks for the fashion tips!

I'd just like to jump in here and point out that "Naught But A Monkey Dance" is probably the coolest phrase I've heard all week. :techman:

Haha! Thanks guys, I think it went rather well. Though it'd be a pity to have to give up my forums addiction all for the sake of a silly dollar. Not that that currency will be worth much in the Federation anyway.
