Captain's Log #39 cover artwork

Looks great!
And to clarify, no currently-published Klingon X-ship (in either Module X1 or the new Module X1R) has photons - though you will see drones, disruptors and the odd SFG.

I knew one of you would make me dig through that damned box ...

Nerroth gets off the hook for his careful use of the qualifier "currently-published" but now gaze back through many sunsets past and look upon the world as it was twenty-five years ago.

(mind you, this is even cooler if you're sipping Kool-Aid and have Goldsmith's TMP Klingons theme blasting in the background)

Wow, 4 photons and 4 disrupters! Nice ship!

Holy Crap has it really been that long now I feel really old :wah:. Played SFB in high school

Times have changed since then, indeed...

Thing is, as stated in a recent thread over at the FC forums discussing a similar topic, Klingon ships in the SFU aren't all that suited, in general, to photon use. Disruptors are more effective weapons for their ships, which can less afford to wade in close the way a padded-out Federation ship might try to do.

But even then, their disruptor tactics would be different to those of Orion (run and gun) Kzinti (drone waves) Lyran (ESG rams!) or FRA ships (more weapon flexibility) would be.

Indeed, they aren't all that ideal when used as plasma ships in Romulan service, either. They were better than most of the Eagle series of hulls, but that said less about the effectiveness of the KRs than about the limitations of the older hull designs. (There's a reason why the Romulans eventually went to the trouble of building their Hawk-series ships, which could be designed from the keel up to make the most of cloak and plasma tactics.)
