Captains Chair Creation. Help Needed.

JASON CLARKE

Ensign
Newbie
Hi All.
I am embarking on a mission to create Kirks chair from with TMP or WOK.
I have managed to find a few pics of original blueprints but wonder if anyone has any good hi res workig drawing or phtos of their own creations?
Cheers,
Ensign Clarke

If you want a three dimensional study model for reference (in small scale) there is a scale replica of this chair packaged in with the Diamond Select Khan figure from a year or two ago. I'm sure if you are good enough at math you can scale it up so you can build a full-size chair replica. Hope I helped, as I've never seen anyone try to do this chair before!

Hi Admiral Archer.

Thanks for the heads up. I had come across these models in the past but I appreciate the help. I have found set blueprint but can't see measurements. Would have Thot there would have been more of them floating about.

I wonder if this might get more traction in Fan Art?

Let's try it and see.

Well, I used both the available production blueprints and the David Kimble "Star Trek: The Motion Picture Blueprints" set to get what I have so far, but, like you, I hope to create a full-size replica to use as a desk chair.

This is what I have so far, but it's a digital model and render:

And this is a version with the more correct fabrics:

BTW, the fabric was PowerNet. The grey is still available today, but the brown unfortunately went out of stock mere months ago.

Hi Scribble.
Thanks for your response. So it looks like we both will be working from these blue prints. The blueprints i have come across are not of great resolution and cant see the measurements, are yours the same?
With regards to the fabric used, google is telling me the PowerNet is a fabric used in making Bra's, hahaha, is this correct?

The website Flicker has LOTS of images from various blueprints. I know there have been BBS posts about them. Anyways, there are some OK scans of the TMP bridge chairs. I'm share the ones I have but I don't have permissions to do that yet.

The very same. ;)

I'm using the prints on the Flickr site, and I can sort of read some of the dimensions.

I understand that. I've had to hold back from sharing images that I didn't have permission to share, as well. Some people don't understand that, but the simple fact is, especially as artists, we need to understand that permission needs to be given before sharing confidential images and information.

Scribbles, Looks like i might have to go to the local fabric shop now with my wife, hahahaha, "hello, can i have some bra material please" (insert of shock sales persons face) hahahaha.

I understand the copy right issues and such likes. Is there anyone i could personally try to butter up for good workings/blueprints etc?
